2007 was the last UF team to struggle on defense. One of the worst I have ever seen actually. Mainly because they were inexperienced.

But he's definitely right. If we just had a *decent* not fantastic, not even good, just decent offense we would be in a perfectly good position.

I'm so excited for the season to start.

Last season the offense was good enough that UF should have won the east.

Muschamp's precious defense, and special teams were big contrubutors to UFs shitty season last year.

Speaking of special teams, last year had to be the worst year for special teams that UF has had in a while (other than Debose returning kicks)

Special teams at Florida last year, were just hugely inconsistent.

Without Andre Debose, UF isn't even in the LSU game.

Without Austin Hardin making a clutch 50 yard FG, UF loses to Tennessee.

That being said, those same units proved costly against Missouri and South Carolina.

Inconsistency... it's the general sign of a bad coach. Zook had the same issues in all phases.

Yeah out of all of the units, I think our Special Teams suffered the most. Meyer's last offense was pretty bad without a center, the defense didn't dropoff too much (although it was starting to get a lot worse), but the Special Teams went from A+ to C.

Our defense from the getgo in the Muschamp era was stout and almost produced an east title in 2012 but for offensive blunders....an no...not just Driskel. A few turnovers were not his fault, but QBs always get blamed. Even our 2011 team had a defense that was rock solid....just putrid offense.

We will have a very very good defense this year and if we had a decent offense...lookout. OL or no OL, we do have some talent...Ivey could be starting by middle of the year...Sharp will be much improved. We just need a few breaks. We could be 7-5 or 10-2?
The east is wide open and we get UT at home...win that game and we will be looking at an improved product overall.

In 2011, that "sturdy" Florida defense gave up over180 yards rushing 5 times (4 over 200). Not the sign of a good defense.

One of those games was against Furman.

The defense also only forced 8 INT that year. It just wasn't a great unit.

It was OK, by UF standards, but not great.

The 2012 unit, yes, was one of the best in program history.

2013 was decimated by injuries and 2014 again, was just average by UF standards.

Slayer, offense can make defense look bad...we were toe to toe with the girls school in 2011 until the dam broke...picks and punts wear out defenses.

The 2014 and 2011 offenses gave up too many big plays.

It was a hallmark of every Muschamp team save the 2012 team.

The defenses just gave up big plays in big moments.
