What if UF didn't blow the LSU, South Carolina, and FSU games last season and finishes 9-2?

This really could have happened...Boom was snakebit.
Only the Bama & Mizzou games were badly played.

Play Idaho, plus add Ws against LSU, USC & the girls school and we now have a 10-2 squad.

Boom had us at 10-2 two years before...but he is ultimately responsible for all Ws & Ls

We would have been cursed with Muffcramp for years to come. LSU , Mizzou and Spurrier did UF a favor.

Scarier what if - UF didn't blow the South Carolina game? Finished 7-4, and Muschamp kept his job.

Honestly, if UF doesn't blow the LSU game last year, the whole season is different.

That one game destroyed Muschamp's coaching career basically. After that, the team fell apart.

I disagree. The one thing that Muschamp did do was keep the team together.

Driskel lost the Missouri game by himself.

Blaming Driskel for the missouri loss is fricken comical.

The OL had a TERRIBLE game, costing him at least 2 turnovers. Brandon Powell wasn't even allowed to play for whatever reason- the whole team played like shite when it mattered.

UF wins the LSU game, I bet the Mizzou game is very different. It crushed the teams morale.

Edit - not a driskel supporter either, but the whole team was garbage on that day, except for the defense, and they couldn't get stops early when it mattered.

UF's defense allowed 13 offensive points to Mizzou

Give an award to the special teams for the Mizzou game...we were taken right out of our game plan when they score on that kickoff return, then a punt return, geez.

We got lucky in those losses . If we win one of those games then Muschamp may still be the head coach.

Slayer doesn't like Driskel, but he's right.

7 points to kickoff return. (96 yards)

8 points to punt return. (82 yard punt return)

They had 28 points before Driskel even turned it over.

And on the turnover, first round draft pick Humphries blew the hell out of his assignment and Driskel was blindsided.

Driskel was responsible for 7 points total of the 42 scored that day, yet it was his fault?

P.S.,

Slayer and I argued the frick out of Driskel, and I'm not saying that he's an authority (or that I am), but if he's saying it's not Driskel's fault, there's a good chance that it's true.

Considering the competition that La Tech faces, it should be no surprise that Driskel might put up huge numbers, and as you point out, La Tech loves to pass the ball.

Sloth still has above average physical skill. I think he's gonna wreck that conference.

After wanting his head after the LSU loss, I was even thinking we should give Muschamp another year until the South Carolina, end of game, disaster. Looking back, I am glad we lost both. The future is brighter without him.

I think so, too, and I just wonder why we didn't run the read option more -- maybe to protect our quarterbacks but we just lost everything.

We'll see, though, if he can perform or not.

Well actually we suffered in recruiting by letting him go...we bulldozed UGA and then had lapses in passing game...some not QBs fault like a certain sr TE who probably costs two freaking games.

But lets think...Muschamp would have had blockbuster recruiting haul...if we could have Grier beat out Driskel & Treon???? A more offense is what we needed..Could say the same thing about Zook having an underclassman as QB and getting fired when he loaded up the roster...well...it took two years but that Zook recruited sr defense with a sr QB and a superman frosh won it all. The next year (2007) we only had 2 starters back on defense and it showed.

He is the sole reason our recruiting was in the crapper, the ship was sinking, man.

Will Muschamp needed to go. He was a doormat to the administration. McElwain came in and instantly put his dick on the table to get things done for the football program, that had become somewhat antiquated. I am a huge WM fan as a person, but he was horrible with roster management and needed to be removed.

I just think looking back on it Muschamp wasn't ready to take on a high expectation HC gig.

Maybe at a smaller school, he would've had more success. But he cleaned up the football program time despite his flaws. It's in a lot better shape from that standpoint compared to when Meyer left.

With arrests, yes, with personal fouls, no. Our boys looked like thugs on the field. I've never seen bigger chips on smaller shoulders.
