When you go on the road and beat a program like LSU, it's always a big deal and always an awesome accomplishment. It was particularly satisfying this year because we made them shut the frick up after all the shite they talked leading up to the game.

The defense played poorly outside of the red zone. Credit to LSU, they kept us off balance all game. We hunkered down and never broke in the red zone. That was what was so great about this game. We showed so much fight and so much resolve in this game. Whether you like our coaches or not, you have to tip your cap to having them motivated and ready to go to war and get the job done this week. My favorite part of this game for our program beyond winning the game was that we fought so hard and showed so much heart. It was refreshing.

I think you have to give it to Mac and Co. for not only having them motivated, but for how well they evaluated talent (ignoring recruiting rankings), and took guys that they saw as good fits. All of the freshman and sophomores all over the field making plays, and all of the 3 star guys making a huge impact on the road like that was a great sign. The 3 star players who are beginning to contribute for us consistently are starting to become more and more of a trend and less and less of a flukely once in a while thing. You have to give the staff their do for their evaluations. I'd like more blue chip guys obviously, but I love what we've gotten from Macs 3 stars so far.

The offense has an identity right now. They're not going to score 40 points a game, but they've figured something out with this young offensive line, Scarlett and Perine, and Callaway and Cleveland becoming weapons out wide. Appleby has progressed as the season has gone on. I wish he would take the couple of yards in front of him when he scrambles instead of throwing into tight coverage, but for the most part he's put the team in good situations, gotten first downs, and really outperformed what I expected from him before the season. I think Nuss got a little too cute at times, and it could've costed us, but it didn't. I think our OL and running backs have more swagger now than they have at any point in Macs tenure so far. They're gelling at a good time with four sophomore and freshman along the OL (Mac's guys, by the way).

If we can continue to build off of what we've done the last two weeks, I think we can beat FSU. We ran on LSU, so if we come out with the same fire and intensity we had in that game we should have some success going up against the Noles. I think FSU has shown to be a little vulnerable to long passes so I expect Mac to take several play action shots down the field, especially after we established the run, to create big plays against their defense. Their offense is explosive but flawed. They have a once in a generation running back in Cook, who has been so successful despite his shitty OL. Our DL must get penetration in the run game and pressure in the passing game to slow them down. I think our defensive front is good enough to do both because I don't think they have a good OL. All that being said, I like Florida in this game. I like the renewed energy since Appleby took back over and I think we win a game we're due for in Tally, 24-14

Thanks for taking the time to read my thoughts of the night. Y'all have a great safe Thanksgiving! Go Gators!

I agree with most of your post Atl. The coaching staff is proving to be able to recognize when a 3* star prospect has the burning desire to succeed. Screw recruiting rankings.

Although right now we are a low scoring team...next year and in 2018 we may start to see explosive plays become more common as our OL matures. The hardest position in football is OL and is one that I sometimes identify with since I've have had so many friends who were ex OL. It is a position that has few rewards other than scoring or huge plays that get little ink for the big uglies that were instrumental in it.

The girls school game will have some payback revenge motives going for it. Our seniors didnt get to go out as winners last year. If our OL plays well it will be a long night for the garnet & gold fans. Like red stick...we need to keep the crowd quiet and not let them influence the game.

Will be a good one! And Happy Thanksgiving!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We have to keep that same "we're going to come in here and whoop your arse" mentality going into Tally. Play hard and with emotion, but avoid the avoidable penalties, take care of the football, and play aggressive, sound defense.

FSU is going to throw swing passes and screens, we HAVE TO be disciplined. Daniel McMillian HAS TO keep contain this week or Dalvin Cook will make him look foolish.

You have to give credit to LSU's offensive coaching staff, they called a really good game offensively between the 20s. It kept UF off balance all day. I was actually quite impressed. Once they got into the red zone though, the field shrunk and so did their options, because they clearly didn't trust Etling down there.

I have been monitoring statistics for gator football teams for a lot of years. This is not the prettiest team statistically. It just isn't. But they find ways to win games, and that's all that matters in football.

I also want to say, that the 19th was my birthday, and all I asked for for a month was for the gators to beat LSU. And it happened, so the universe was kind this year.

It would be a huge step for the program to take back Florida by beating FSU, but I think that is just a lot to ask for, on the road, with so many injuries, a week after that emotional slugfest against LSU.

If UF does win, it'll be because of the big guys up front on both sides of the ball.
