Brad Culpeeper's son

Offer list is pretty good this early in the cycle. However, he is still only a 3* so he must be shite.

Monica Culpepper was on one of those "survivor" TV series, she is an athlete herself and works out and stays in shape...that pic doesnt do her justice.

CJ Smith is good, But might be a response to Miami getting Gurvan Hall who I'm sure was higher up on their board. Many of the top DBs are already locked in to where they are going, so if guys want in to a class they gotta do it sooner than later.

Miami is basically done at db with Jobe, Frierson, Blades, Hall, Ivey, Russell committed, and Tyson Campbell being the guy we want to end that class with. So, UF needs to go hard at Asante Samuel before FSU locks him up.

Jobe is going to be a fight for Miami until NSD. Lots of schools are recruiting him hard. Fast start for Miami per usual. Need to back it up on the field this fall or some of the kids will go elsewhere.

Unfortunately you're right.
That dude is gunna be playing games till the moment he signs. But he's a truly elite talent, so no choice but put up with it. Not a guy you can tell to stop looking around with the threat of pulling his scholarship.

Also according to his father, he wants to be an EE. And right now he's fully committed to being a Cane. However he has some academic concerns, and Richt will likely need to use one of our waivers on him to actually get him in academically. And if we aren't able to get him in as an EE, he will go somewhere that can.

I liked Hall's film. Bigger hitter. Huge hitter for his size.

I don't think UF is after Samuel with Campbell and Surtain still available. UF does not seem to go after the same kids as FSU.

Not sure how many DBs UF is after number wise with loading up last class.

We gotta take more DBs in case we have some major league busts, but there's much better depth at this point.

Surtain has been all over LSU though. No way I'd count on him going anywhere else.

I know Miami is going after Campbell hard, and hopefully the fact that Rumph coached him at AH helps. And his CBs are mainly Miami and LSU with one Clemson prediction.

Samuel is a top corner though. If he was taller he'd be a lot higher on everyones board.

Is Samuel a legit 5'10" or is more 5'7“-8“?

Joe Haden was and is a badass but even he got bodied out for balls at times at 5'10" same thing for VH3.

This isn't to say he wouldn't be awesome but i cohld ujderstand if he's lower on our board than some less talented but more physically prototypical DBs.

OTOH- you could make the case that post-Meyer we've overemphasized size vs. speed and skill- if this is some change back to striving to be the fastest team in America or at least faster, that would be great. Against truly elite talent we have often seemed slow over the past 4-5 seasons. With the exception of Bama we don't really get out muscled anymore (that's not what happened vs. Arkansas, that loss is almost entirely on the coaches).

Asante Jr is listed at 5'9.5" 166lbs and is 17.5 yrs old.
His dad was 5'10" 186lbs in the NFL. So I don't see him really growing over 5'10". But thats not a reason he can't be good - Corn Elder was our best CB this yr and he's 5'10" 180lbs.

I just think he's kinda unlucky that hes a 2018 guy, because any other year he'd be one of the top guys regardless his height. But this yr there's dozens of DBs in Florida, and they all seem to be prototypical height. Idk how many yall are trying to bring in, but I think yall should go after him. I want Miami to recruit him, and if we don't get Tyson Campbell (or something crazy like Tyreke), then I think Asante should be a take for us.

DB recruiting is going to be interesting this year with UF. So many good DBs in the state of Florida. Lets see if Bell can live up to the recruiting hype.
