I'll give my prediction after I see who the starting QB is game 1.

Damn dbuch...you were up late last night I see

I made the mistake of saying about the same thing last spring and wanted to see how we did in the spring game and then came out and predicted 11-1 based on LDR's decision making and intermediate range passing game. I knew with our defense it wouldnt take much offense to be elite.

Of course I never knew N Texas would play dirty and take his knee out. And I honestly think he was never the same afterwards, he went from being praised to being radioactive in no time. If you are waiting (and I assume you do not want LDR as QB) to see who is QB...fine but remember that LDR had a great start last year (I know I know...against inferior teams). Could he be starter in 2017? If the frosh arent ready for prime time...yes.

Would I have a problem with LDR as a starter? No. It would be like any QB...wait to see how he does. Lets face it...he would have had a year to recuperate and get better. His arm strength will not change much and that concerns me...but if he hits high percentage of 10-20 yd passes? The WRs are capable of taking short passes and getting YAC....just saying.

I agree, LDR may never be the same mentally but I wouldnt mind him starting if he can ever put that behind him and play well.
Ofcourse Id like to see Franks or Trask start next year to show that Mac is right about holding them back while he developed them.

Yeah on nightshift this week, lots of late posts to follow lol

But I will still predict 11-1 because I see a lot of promise in our OL for next year mainly....and in our WRs and RBs.

Your schedule sets up nicely for next year but I think you are underestimating just how hard it is to be a first year starter at QB in the SEC (which I assume to be Franks).

We we really need a TE like Nauta...could we borrow him for this year?

Absolutely not. Y'all keep your short, scaly hands away from him.

HT I agree with first year starters 100% and that is why I predict (if we dont get a waiver wire QB transfer) that Del Rio will start the year and we get Franks involved enough early on that he will be the starter after a few games. I just hope LDR can return fully healed physically and mentally.

Spurrier had to be second string back in 1964 the first two games because we had a senior returning starter....but after two or three games it was obvious that Spurrier was the better QB. This was before frosh could play and sophs were considered frosh back then. I remember the 1964 UGA back then btw...Larry Rakestraw, I am a SEC and college football walking encyclopedia of sorts I used to listen to the radio broadcasts of all the SEC schools when UF wasnt playing. UGA and the dade county correctional school played a few times back then....but the Ibis's werent a powerhouse until they played us of course

How big is UGA's campus? Trying to calculate how much napalm would be required to burn it to the ground.

Asking for a friend. School project. Nothing to worry about.

762 acres. That's a lot of napalm.

11-1 is a really good record for a defensive team that wil lose half of the starters and be playing a crappy QB or a unproven redshirt freshmen on a offense that has struggled. If one of the redshirt freshmen turn out to be as good or better then Grier and the OL improves I would agree with 11-1. But that is basicly a best case scenario . I don't get how you guys can expect the best and be happy with what we have had on the field the last 2 years. I would be pissed if I was expecting 11-1 the last 2 years.

Well....you would not be me of course. Since I hark back to 1962 being involved with the Gators, I have seen the worse of the worse. But you damn sure dont stop being supportive back then. Nowadays no one has patience, its a virtue you know.

I disagree with your shoot from the hips prognosis of our defense next year...we may lose a little bit of our prowess...yes, but I think you will be surprised at how stout we might be...so we will agree to disagree on that matter.

And on offense we may start with Luke Del Rio at QB..with another year under his belt and time to have healed..is he the long term answer? I dont think so because of the lack of arm strength to throw deep enough and keep defenses backed up some.

Our run game is what I am looking forward to...OL should definitely be better and has depth to keep starters on their toes every snap. I have posted this mantra many times...to be successful in the SEC (and unless you are in the big 12)you must run well and I think to win the SEC you must be in top three rushing offense and defense to be in playoffs usually.
