I liked James Blackman a lot. I wish the staff would've went after him harder. Looks like he'll either stick with FSU or flip to WVU. I think he's got a ton of potential. Perhaps the staff thought he was about the same as Feleipe Franks though

Im holding out hope that the reason we havent made a hard push for many QB's is the staff believes Franks is ready

Which is why it would be a major strike against the staff if Franks or Trask aren't good. This year is the first year we are going to see Mac's offense run by a player Mac has hand picked out of high school to run his offense, surrounded by a bunch of players Mac deemed as good fits for our offense.
There is no young excuse for a redshirt freshman QB. We see all too often redshirt freshmen QBs playing damn good football, winning Heismans, winning championships. This year is Mac's offense and his offense alone. And if Trask or Franks aren't going to be good ball players next year and improve the year after that, that will be a huge alarm for Mac's future at UF, and he may not be around for year 5.

Exactly. Grier set us back 2 years at the QB position, when he popped we scrambled for whoever we could get and it showed. I wonder how this season wouldve ended had Grier stayed but oh well. Thats another thread I guess.
Now its on Franks to come out next yr as the starter and lead this team. If LDR trots his arse out their vs Michigan in week 1, I will seriously begin to lose faith in the Coaches that I have given the benefit of the doubt to for the past 2 years.

Twitter rumors about commits are rarely accurate. Not many kids visiting this weekend that would commit publicly. Most have scheduled visits after this weekend.
