#Gators arrive for fall practice. ??

Antonio Callaway is here

Caleb Brantley looks Dominique Easley type dominant. No pads (obviously) but great burst and hands.

Fred Johnson looks good. Good footwork to stay in front of Justus Reed off the edge.

Chauncey Gardner still working with the safeties.

Putu working at corner

Jabari Zuniga goes right around Stone Forsythe and takes out Mike Summers

Chris Rumph furious about how the freshmen DL started practice: "I'll drop all your stars today!" -Zach Abolverdi

Mac: "The energy was really good. The thing that caught me is how much farther along we are understanding the standards of what we expect."

Mac: "Defensively, we got some pass rushers. That was good to see." #Gators

Both QBs took reps with both units on Thursday:
"Let's face it, we're in underwear and helmets, it's different." - Mac

Mac on if Cleveland's number change was punishment: "There were a lot bigger consequences than [changing a jersey number]."

(All tweets above from Nick de la Torre over at GC, except for the 1 I noted from Zach Abolverdi from SECNews.)

Antonio Riles (torn ACL) and Quincy Lenton (broken foot) out for the year. Also rumors of C.J. McWilliams with an ACL tear.

Honestly, injuries happen to everyone. You just hope that it doesn't hit the key starters.

Look at what happened to LSU's front 7 in the last week.

Only a few weeks til kickoff....cant wait. Nothing like college football for entertainment. Seems like an eternity from Jan to Sept Umass wont show much to tell us what we have or dont have. UK will be a good matchup and their young QB might have improved a lot. Another sister of the poor and then the game we all wanna see...Hillbilly U. Just have this feeling that our team will be fired up to the max because of all the hoopla UT has gotten and imo doesnt deserve.

Another scrimmage last night....

Del Rio had several TD's/no int's. Massey and Perine looked good as well as AC81.

Spivey/ De la Torre notes from scrimmage:

ere is some notes on the Gators second scrimmage from last night. We will continue to add to this thread but here's what we know now.
-Luke Del Rio really dominated the scrimmage and had two touchdown passes. The offense scored on three of his drives.
-Antonio Callaway had a really good scrimmage that saw him have two really long catches. Callaway also did well at punt return.
-Mark Thompson had a better scrimmage and didn't have a fumble from what we've heard.
-Lamical Perine had a touchdown during the scrimmage and also had two long runs. Perine also made another catch out of the backfield.
-Dre Massey scored for the second straight scrimmage.
-Joseph Putu got some reps with the 1's at cornerback with Tabor out. Putu had a few pass breakups and also recovered a fumble.
-With Tabor out, Chauncey Gardner started at corner for the scrimmage.
-Last note is that the offensive line had a better scrimmage this week.

This is really the key to the whole season.

If Del Rio is good, UF has a chance to be great.

I love how under the radar we are this season. Absolutely no expectations placed on us by the media. If our O-line can make the jump we need them to make, we are going to be tough to beat.
