With a broken leg suffered today. Scheduled immediately for surgery today.

That's now TWO young WRs - along with Shaq Davidson earlier - that's out for this season with injuries. The season is still 4 games away: both were inexperienced and very young with no playing time, with Davidson a RS-Fr. and Washington a true Fr. We still have depth at the position, but lets not have any more go down for extensive periods please.

Looks now like we may not red-shirt any of the true freshman now, minus Jerad's medical red-shirt. DJ Neal and Jalen Christian are both 3rd on the official depth chart, and while Christian Owens wasn't listed and may have been a candidate for red-shirt, I bet they give him as much time to develop as possible. He has 4 games into the season to suddenly develop an "injury" and still retain his red-shirt, so we'll see.

Still, bad news for Jalen and prayers to him for a speedy and full recovery. They always say broken bones are much better injuries than say joint injuries, despite the lost playing time...

Yes, a broken tibia/fibula is a much more "fortuitous" injury in comparison to an ACL.

I don't think Washington would have played this year, so now his RS is just solidified.

Davidson's injury sucks, b/c he was on the 2 Deep, but this was going to be that year where he got some snaps and and start making a case for starting next year. At least it happened early enough this year that he won't miss any of next season; He'll be a full go by summer workouts.
