Taking my kids to the women's tournament. I have never been to a tournament before. We are planning to go to the Friday evening games, saturday and sunday games. I would like somewhat decent seats.
1. Whats the best way to get tickets, SEC tickets, SC tickets, General admission at game.
2. Anybody ever stayed on the south side of the river in jacksonville and taken the water taxi over to the arena? It looks like they drop you off at the park and you walk to the arena. Is it a safe walk?

Thanks

I think it is in Jacksonville this year and I am trying to remember if it has ever been there before. not sure what to tell you about the venue because I don't remember ever going there.

For general interest it depends on your status.

High donors usually get seats behind the team bench
Players family usually are in a 50 seat block in the lower, if you have a player source here
If you are an average fan here is some observations

Opposing fans seats, sadly schools with longer history of success usually get these years and probably already have these.

Venue seats, usually the best seats go to promoters of the event in the home city (Jacksonville in this case) and local business who buy blocks to land the event in the first place.

Alumni and Booster club groups, usually pretty good seats but may have a pecking order

Package deals, usually the more expensive for average seats

School allotments, depending on the school, these go on sale in the fall but get delivered closer to game time. Sometimes folks drop out and will sell them at cost if you are rooting for the same team

I am an old fan and would much rather deal with street scalpers but I have developed a learning curve over long period of time in knowing how to work the best deal. Cash is always king in this world but many are not good dealing with this type transaction and while some scalpers are great to work with, some are not.

If you go and have a good time, keep in mind Nashville is becoming the preferred site for SEC M and W basketball tourneys. The more you go, the better you will get a feel for the best thing that works for you.

If the Cocks are in the regional in Lexington and you want to go, give me some time and I can probably help you there.

Thanks, Jacksonville is close to us. The kids wanted to see them play and I figured I had a better shot at these games than the ones in Columbia.

How close?

Your post made it sound like a hotel room trip instead of a 1/2 hour drive trip.

If you are close enough to drive daily, a trick I have used in the past is to buy tickets off teams that get eliminated early. It helps if South Carolina is not the team that eliminated them. Have a map with seating clearly marked and have cash as other fans don't take credit cards.

If you are buying from street scalpers and they picked their tickets up from eliminated schools, you can usually drive a deeper discount.

Good luck and happy hunting.

2 hour drive. It's a weekend gateway as much as anything. Bonus for me and my son that it's basketball. Double bonus that hopefully we will be playing sunday
Thanks

Savannah, just noticed that when you said 2 hours.

Have family there

Have you contacted SC ticket office yet to see what and where they have seats?

Ticket office may also be able to tell you what section each school has and where SC's allotment is.
