Just wanted to find out everyone's feelings on today's game. Splitting the series feels like a missed opportunity to distance ourselves from the competition. So going forward we will need to stay focused and play with a purpose if we are going to win the SEC regular season champ.

Last time it hurt with us having to share the east and sec crown with UF and Vandy. This year i feel it will hurt with our remaining schedule

If we go 7-2 in our remaining conference series it will not matter.

If we go 6-3 or 5-4 it might.

which is why i am worried, with TAMU, UK, and Bama on the schedule it will be very easy to slp up

This team will not "slip up" per se ... those three will have to earn it, they'll have to outright beat us and I'm not sure any of them, with the possible exception of A&M, are better than are we. Time will tell with A&M but I like our chances at home.

Now, if Holbrook blows a couple of games then yeah ... that would be a major slip up but we can't worry about that - Chad is gonna Chad.

We rarely play well at Kentucky, I know ... but maybe this series will be different.

At Bama, I dunno ... good teams dominate their last series when it counts. We've done it, we've had it done to us ... we'll just have to see how it plays out but right now I like our chances to finish strong.

I hope it plays that way Rooster, I really do. Ive just been talking to guys who used to play and coach, they see us losing the series to TAMU, the cancellation took a ton of wind from the sails. Then going 2-1 on the other 2 series which puts us at 5-4

I think it'll eventually hurt us. We had all of the momentum heading into Sunday and I really believe we were in a mindset to win that game. Taking a series from Florida would've been huge.

I'm convinced we were going to win that final game against Florida. Momentum was in our favor.

But if something keeps SC from winning the SEC outright blame series losses to UGA and Kentucky.. not a missed game versus Florida due to weather. Nature can't be controlled but the way you play has always and will continue to have a say in the outcome of a game.

Well with my pristine 20/20 hindsight, it definitely did not hurt us as we won the SEC-East outright (with help from LSU) and locked down no worse than the #2 seed for the SECT.

We're still in dogfights with both Texas A&M and Miss State for the SEC overall regular-season title, and those teams are trailing Ole Miss and Arkansas very early in their games.

But either way, IMO the series losses to UGA and UK hurt us more than the one cancelled game versus UF....

Exactly what I was saying. Those series and errors in Nashville didnt help but ill chalk that to youth and Vandy being a damn good team.

Congrats on a great year and the results are in. This game hurt us and helped us at the same time. Not winning this whole conference can be blamed on the missing game against FLA. But on the positive side we will face aTm instead of FLA if we are lucky enough to make it to the second round on the tourney. Winning the SEC tourney will lock up a high national seed and give us momentum going forward. Let's hope for the best in Hoover this week.
