Mens or Womens?

Is it better to be a top 25-40 program in Men's ball where it's extremely tough to compete against the blue bloods day in and day out but we have a shot to actually beat them in the tournament or is it a better look for us to be in the top 10 nationally in WBB every year gaining some notoriety but basically playing for 2nd place every year with the inability to topple UCONN?

Men's, and it's not close.

Don't get me wrong. I love Dawn and what she has done with the program and I love that crowds are routinely over 10k.

But we didn't build an 18k arena (and a 12k arena before that) for the women's team. As good as we've been over the last few year in women's bball, I don't think anyone knows a damn thing about it except maybe how good UConn is.

I would say Men's and heres why. Last night OMW into work listening to espn radio after the UConn/SC game, the reporters were talking about what up and coming coach will it take to defeat Ucon or become the next rival ala Pat Summit and the Vols against the Huskies. They flat out named 15 WBB head coaches before they even mentioned Dawn Staley as a contender. I thought it was more or less a jab at her considering the past couple years its really only been UConn and SC in WBB.

Men's.

Women's sports? Cmon.

Talk to me when their final can fill out a football field.

I agree but a national title is good for the school even if it's in checkers. The problem is, I doubt we can beat UCONN anytime soon to get it and think the mens teams may have better odds of running the table then the women do of winning

Agree.... but at the end of the day the only two sports that matter nationally and make us the cash for the school are football and mens hoops.

I'll take us as a team making the sweet 16 with a sometimes elite 8 for Mens over our Women's team losing in the title game any day.

Men's. I know the women's team is a feel good story and all that. But no one gives a shite nationally. AT ALL.

Money: Men's>>>>>>Women's
