Does anybody know what's going on with this situation?

No specifics but likely to return this season is what I am hearing. No idea on when though.

Man, being a Gamecock fan is like living in the Puritan days of old: you can't act too crazy, or they'll think you're a witch and burn you at the stake; you can't get too excited about the prospects of your Gamecock teams, or they will punish you with stuff like this happening.

I was really looking forward to today with the WBB and MBB teams extending their records. The WBB team plays like shite, and the men's team wins but with this now hanging over it's collective heads. I hope Sin can return soon - the Seton Hall game is next but will be a pretty tough game to win on the road....

I heard from one of his friends that he won't be back until the start of SEC play. Sucks if true.

I guess that would be better than the alternative. I don't like spreading rumors but all signs point to an academic issue. I don't see him shooting out car windows or being into drugs so this makes the most sense.

My wife teaches at USC and she tells me how rough it is on the student athletes. Especially on the upperclassmen who are finishing up their degrees.

I'm sure we're all hoping for a speedy return to the team for Sin. Also I give a lot of credit to Coach Martin for making this decision even though is was a hard one to make. He's letting it be known to the rest of the guys that no one is above punishment with him in charge. I just hope that it doesn't cost us what I hoped to be a great season for us.

*I didn't think about impermissible benefits, which may be more plausible now that I think about it.

Basically they have a loaded schedule with very little down time.

True not all majors are as difficult as others. That's why I'm thinking it may be another issue like contact with an agent.

Edited the basketball thread, but forgot to edit this one. It is not academic-related. Speculate what you want, but the powers to be are sticking with the "Violation of Athletic Department Policy."

If I knew with 100% certainty what it was about, I would post it, but I have heard a couple of different rumors today.

Good lord well whatever. I suppose they will eventually have to come out and say how long he will be suspended.

Yea, I know. Frank was pretty short in his post-game interview. Even went as far to say that if he was asked about it, he would walk out.

Post and Courier tweeting that it stemmed from an arrest back May.

I have no idea. Seems weird that it stayed silent for 7 months. I'm not sure how anything can stay quiet for that long anymore.

I think that this means we are doing a GREAT job of keeping the media and law enforcement in line.

I was way off in what I thought happened to Sin. If he was arrested then there should have been a trail, like police report, mug shot, bond hearing, etc. Not sure how he was able to keep that from everybody for so long. I thought all of that was public record or was an exception made for him.

QFT.

Sick and tired of this shite.

If we are a big boy program in the SEC we gotta start acting like one.

Bagmen, Newspapers, Law Enforcement need to work with us.
