The influx of ohioites to the low country is unbearable. They almost have taken over all of Edisto. The ones that come and tour Charleston are traffic hazzards, since they are looking at the buildings rather than the roads and pedestrians are falling victim left and right.

Although, those tourists aren't as bad as the ones that stay. Do you know the difference b/w a yankee and a damn yankee? A yankee is a person from the north who comes to visit the south. A damn yankee is the northern SOB who stays.

The reason for the ohioites for visiting include relaxed culture, good food, favorable weather, shorter drive than going to Florida and affordable housing.

Therefore to battle the infestation, we probably need to consider outside the box options, as not to interfere with the same pleasure Carolinians enjoy.
1.) Damn Yankee Tax- Any person relocating to SC from above the Mason-Dixon has to pay an addition 20% year 1 tax on any property purchased in SC.
A). Then there's also a 50% increased property tax every year after.
2.) We could be like Mexico and make it illegal for non-SC citizens to own property in SC in the first place.
3.) Mandatory Fort Sumter Service - Yankees who wish to become Damn Yankees and stay in SC must be forced to stand watch over Fort Sumter for 4 years, just in case we need to do what needs to be done again.
4.) South Of The Border Profiling - We setup a checkpoint at South Of The Border off of I-95, anyone who thinks to stop there gets their arse turned around real quick.
5.) Selective Tolling - We create a system of toll booths along I26, I77 and I95. In state people have the express lanes to avoid them, out-of-state tags end up paying $18.61 in tolls just to cross the state. All change is given in the form of pennies or the equivalent value in pine straw.
6.) We just burn Myrtle Beach to the mutha f**kin ground.

They just built a retirement community in the panhandle of Lancaster County, just south of Charlotte like the one outside of HHI in Bluffton. Same designer and all, called Sun City Carolina Lakes. Before knowing better, my grandparents looked at a house in there. 99% of that community is made up of people from Ohio, Michigan, and Wisconsin. Its flat out ridiculous. Not to mention, within two years of the community being built, they petitioned to make Indian Land the county seat of Lancaster County, then got pissed when they couldn't get enough signatures to even have a case.

...what the frick? Can't we get some yankee specific immigration laws for the Carolinas? I grew up in North Carolina, and they are suffering much the same fate as far as the Ohio bastards and their Michigan cousins.

When I was bartending one summer at the beach, some old retiree who moved down South came and sat at the bar to eat his dinner since his wife/life partner was out of town or something. This guy had apparently been seeking a part time job to occupy his days between rounds of golf or whatever the hell old yankees do besides clog up grocery stores and talk too loud.

Anyway, nobody would hire the yank so he's bitter. He goes on a rant about how Southerners just don't like people from the north and the war is over they should just forget it. Tells me how in Ohio things just aren't like that and I would be treated just fine if I were to move north. He goes on in this vein of northern superiority for his entire meal, then the sonofabitch leaves me a one dollar tip. a-hole, not only did I wait on you, I had to sit there and listen to you talk the whole damn time. I should've gotten a 50% tip.

Bottom Line: These people don't get it. And they never will. Because they simply can't see it. People without manners, roots, culture, etc simply can't identify or assimilate with those that do. Myrtle Beach, yikes. I lived in Pawley's a couple of summers in college, it wasn't too badly infested, at least compared to Horry County. Hell the Murrell's Inlet bars had a fairly local crowd throughout most of the summer. But yeah I wouldn't set foot in Broadway or any of that shite between May and September. Then you get the Canucks cruising down to the Tanger Stores year round now, wtf is wrong with those people?
