Yeah he was here for sure. It is absolutely possible that he was talking about committing here, but it is just as possible that he was talking about Michigan. That's all I meant.

Just interesting to me that he tweeted "Finally home" and then 12 hours later made the comment about the nations top uncommitted quarterback won't be uncommitted much longer. He's a special talent no doubt, would love to land him.

I believe his family is originally from SC and still has some here which is why we are in on him in the first place. As far as Joyner is concerned, it is looking more and more that his stalwart decision to commit in June may come back to bite him. He has already had 2 other schools he was interested in fall off of his list because they took QBs who would commit. Bama has begun to recruit him as a QB as well so it complicates matters further.
One thing I will say for Kurt Roper, he can evaluate QBs with the best of them. We still need to see his and the rest of our staff's ability to ultimately land them, but he was the first or one of the first major offer for 2-3 nationally recruited guys this cycle.

Yea I saw a linked article on 247 this morning. Apparently lived here until he was 5.
As far as Roper, the guy has an eye for QBs. That's a good thing too because we're going to have to win games with offense while the defense is rebuilt. Either Joyner or DTR will be excellent picks to carry the reigns after Bentley leaves his mark.

From what I can gather with twitter posts, he wasn't going to actually name the school - he was going to reduce it down to 2 finalists. The consensus was he had a top 3 of USC, NC State, and Alabama. He visited Bama recently and seemed to have dropped them from his list.
So it basically makes his announcement for him. He's tweeted that he was making his top 2 announcement tonight instead of Father's day, but now has tweeted that it will be tomorrow instead due to some video complications. But it still will be just a finalist list of two schools, not the actual school he ultimately chooses...

Glad to get Ernest Jones, he will be a productive LB for us consistently.
