Got a commitment from Chapin center hank manos yesterday. I think he is one of those guys that hasn't played ask that long so his name isn't out there.

However, he has won back to back state wrestling championships I believe so footwork and aggressiveness shouldn't be an issue.

Eric Wolford doing early work: Gamecocks picked up another OL commitment today - this one from OT Maxwell Iyama out of Murfreesboro, TN. Iyama (6-6, 280 is a 4* per Rivals and composite 3* per 247Sports. Iyama had offers from UGA, UTjr., Miss St., Ole Miss, and Louisville among others.

That makes 2 OL commits thus far out of 4 total commitments for the 2018 cycle...

I know no one here is the recruiting fiend that CIYE was, but does anyone have any knowledge about Mushin Muhammad III? He's Mushin Muhammad's (of NFL fame) son.

He is from Charlotte and plays WR at Providence Day School.

In addition Xavier Thomas tweeted out earlier that there would be an update this week about his recruitment. Anxious to see what it might be.

ETA: Looks like Muhammad is for the class of '20, so we have a while to worry about that ha.

Should be top priority IMO just to keep up with SC's tradition of great names.

Tony over at 247 had recently stated that he felt as positive about our situation with Xavier Thomas as he has ever felt. That has subsequently changed enough to where he is now predicting Thomas to go to Clemson. Even saying his commitment, which was supposed to take place on his birthday in December, could now take place at Clemson's spring game this weekend.

He tweeted yesterday that there is no news to report after all. Confuses the frick out of me as to what he could have been referring to and what changed to alter whatever news he initially intended to announce.

The comments that followed that tweet were a lot of tater fans sarcastically saying he was just enjoying the attention and yanking their chains. I hope to God he sees within those comments what kind of ppl they really are.

For real.

In my wildest dreams I think he just knows he's coming to Carolina, and is just playing the long troll job on Clemmy. For that alone I'd love him forever haha

The guy whose comment is shown here changed the original one. It was sarcastic, tho this one still sorta rings of sarcasm to me.

No idea what the hell XT is up to but he's been following/unfollowing our coaches on Twitter, then doing the same to Clemson coaches. He's currently just following the Gamecock FB account.

Someone is either playing on his Twitter or he's just trying to stir the pot. Either way, I fricking miss the days of recruiting before social media.

It does seem very doom-n-gloom over on 247, though. I think I'm just gonna stay off there for a while and hope CIYE has a change of heart and returns here.

I'm gonna hit him up. He tends to know just as much if not more than the guys that get paid to know that stuff anyway.

The state of Gamecock recruiting for football right now .....is actually not good at all. Staff is doing a worse job than what Spurrier's staff was doing at the end of their run, which is awful to realize. Those three 11-2 seasons now are winding up meaning LESS to the program's future than the back-to-back 8-4 seasons in the late 80s under Todd Ellis. It's depressing times for me....

Chin up. We just went to the Final four and should build on that.

Really have to start questioning this staff's recruiting abilities after losing out on yet another instate kid who grew up a Gamecock fan.

I understand that you get the 5 stars when you win a lot, and no one is doing that better than Clemson at the moment, but for everything to appear to work in our favor last weekend then a sudden 180 is alarming.

Perhaps he's just been trolling us all along, but the perception of this sudden change is shady and downright worrisome.

There's only one explanation that could cause this, seeing as how XT grew up a gamecock and wanted to wait and see how we did in the fall.

Clemson gave him a blank check and told him write the amount to commit.
