Curious to know on how they plan to allocate carries between these three.

I bet it will be competition/hot hand based. Whoever is practicing the best and performing the best will get more carries.

Although, I've always seen Turner as our 3rd and long or scat RB. He can pick up yards in space and has break away speed. Dowdle and Tyson are bigger and will compete for the early down or every down RB role. Although, who knows, Turner might have the best off season and take that role. What we have is a good competition b/w young RB's. If Dowdle keeps doing what he's doing though, it will be tough to overtake him.

This player is pretty interesting. Could be a QB or a hell of a TE in college. I originally thought TE, but he does a have a quick release and a good arm. He telegraphs throws to much though. He is tough to bring down for his HS classification. Most importantly he has a high football IQ and makes a lot of good decisions.

Holton's stats
62% Comp for 4500 passing yds, 51 TD's, 9 INT's
150 Carries, 911 rushing yds, 6.1 ypc, 15 TD's.

Nike SPARQ verified
4.68 40 yd dash.
6'4"
235 lbs.

His dad is the stadium announcer for ECU home games. This kid can play ball, he may not be our QB ever, but he can play ball.

You are not kidding ... that kid is interesting.

I mean, the kind of kid not getting a whole lot of attention that makes you go hmmmmmmmm.

I wonder if we'll get involved - he sure looks like the kind of blue collar kid we could use.

Reminds me a bit of McEvoy (who somehow is inexplicably in the NFL...)

As a wide receiver right?

Which is what Spurrier wanted to do with him ... but he wanted to be a QB or a Safety.

Go figure.

The other thing - the one thing you could not do to Spurrier was look him in his eyes and lie to his face. And Tanner did that when he got back from break ... the underage drinking was no biggie. But failing the piss test was.

What could have been. Oh well. Shame that when he did transfer he went to Safety immediately. Guess SOS couldn't get it into his head.

Unsurprising really. Will be a long battle for his services but I think we can snag him.

Xavier Thomas is making some announcement tonight at 7 p.m. He said it will be his last announcement until he announces what college he's going to.

I don't know what that means for sure, but it's interesting to put that limitation on his announcements. Most thought he would not announce for a year, and that seems like a long time to not announce anything.

...is he going to commit to SC tonight?

Doubt he commits. Probably an update and maybe announce his official commitment date.

I think this is 'good' for us since he eliminated bama, fsu and whoever else he was considering.

4* DT Robert Cooper, fsu commit, is still in play for us. He's taking a visit here in January and has been in contact with Coach Lance and Coach Coleman.

If we can get most of the guys trending SC and a few of the 50/50 guys in just NC and SC, we'll have an amazing Recruiting class in 2018. NC and SC are much more loaded with high level talent in 2018.

For SC
5* DE Xavier Thomas
4* DT Josh Belk
4* ATH Jordyn Adams (this is a weird situation b/c of his Dad, but he seems to really like SC, he's moving to Gville, NC though. He can play baseball too at a high level.)
4* QB Dak Joyner
4* ILB Khalid Jones
4* OT Kavesz Sherard (Wynn will try to pull him with him to clemson, although Wynn says he's on the fence too, but he's a clemson legacy. Sherard is one of the 50/50 guys.)
3* S Israel Mukumara (moving to LA, but I like our chances.)
3* WR Demarcus Gregory (Byrnes guy, Bentley will have this on lock.)
3* DT Kelijiha Brown (this is one guy we need to stay under the radar, he's a stud.)

I don't feel good about our chances with SC's
4* WR Darion Kendrick
4* DE Stephon Wynn
and "4* LB Jake Venables" is not really a 4*, his offer list is 3 schools.

For NC
5* Zamir White (this could be the recruit that makes Bentley's collegiate coaching career. we have a shot but not the lead.)
5* DE KJ Henry (50/50 guy, clemson leads but he keeps visiting SC and Lance pursues him.)
4* DT Rick Sandidge (we have help in Concord.)
4* ILB Dax Hollifield (we lead.)
4* ATH Ricky Person (we need to get in the mix here, we could beat out NCState or Duke for him.)
4* RB Jamal Elliott (depends on Zamir, IMO.)
4* ATH Dyamii Brown (Same as Ricky Person.)

Just hypothetically (and it's not likely but just for arguments sake,) if we actually got all the guys listed above, it would give us 262 pts in the 247 Class Calculator, which would be good for a Top4 Class Nationally most years. Plus we'd have about another 8-10 guys from other states commit. We could build a dream team though just from the Carolinas' talent.

Can only dream about having Thomas and Henry on opposite sides of the line.

Our best bet is to hope Venables gets a new gig between now and then and that these kids would look elsewhere. But...it doesn't look like it's happening this year. Would've loved for Herman to call him to Texas.

I think that we have a better chance than most think we do with him. Clemson probably leads, followed by Florida, but we stay in contact with him constantly. He plays basketball with one of my co-worker's son, and he seems to think we have a decent shot.

There is no doubt the 2018 class has the chance to propel us back to a top program in the SEC if we take advantage of the strong local class. Time for Muschamp and all the top recruiters on the staff to earn some of the money they are making in that regard. I think burning the RS on Bentley was the best decision the staff made this year, as he really breathed life and excitement back into the program giving hope and promise for the future to sell these top recruits on. I hope that abortion of a game in Clemson hasn't diminished that enthusiasm for recruits. A bowl win would be a nice recovery.

The only bad thing is that if we don't do well in the 2018 class given all the potential talent to be had, we could be in for several more lackluster years. I'm going to be positive though and believe we are going to hit a home run with a top 10 class in 2018.

Joyner eliminates the taters sets commitment date for June 18th. Named USC, NC State and Louisville as his top 3.
