5* DE KJ Henry is visiting this Saturday. I don't know what to think about this, but I've read that he has legit interest in SC and playing for Muschamp and Lance Thompson. I'm trying to wrap my brain around having a shot at a DL Class with:
5* DE Xavier Thomas
5* DE KJ Henry
4* DT Josh Belk
4* DE Stephon Wynn
4* DT Rick Sandidge Jr
plus whoever else they can get.

Wow ... just wow.

That would be incredible.

Thanks for all the updates CiyE.

Your link for KJ Henry is a site for a job opportunity for the Federal Bureau of Prisons...

Hahahah

Well thats a first. That wasnt a job though, it was a RFC/RFP, they are searching for contractors to provide education and technology to Dept of Corrections and Dept of Justice.

I have never really talked about what I do for a living, but that is part of it, federal and state contracting.

We are his closest D1 offer. The word is he wants to stay close to home, but that could honestly mean anywhere in NC or SC. I think we have a decent shot but I am not holding my breath on this one.

Very good sign that we are getting him on campus this early though.

I'm just dreaming but if all three were to say, "You know what, Boom needs us in a bad way, let's commit tonight.." I'd probably fall over dead.

Where's our frickin' bag man? He better make a "strong" appearance this weekend.

We are trending in the right direction with White. We are getting Dowdle back in a couple of weeks and he will have all next season to hopefully watch Ty'son Williams do his thing along with Dowdle and Turner. That would be one RB, Dowdle, from the state of NC and one RB, Williams, that played at UNC and decided to transfer to us.

To add onto what ATL already said, we have severL legit things working in our favor here with White.
1. His RB Coach in HS was coached by Coach Bentley.
2. SC has a good rep in Scotland County and therr are a number of Gamecocks in that community ariund the program.
A) to add on to the above, 3 former Gamecock players came from his high school; Wooten, McKnight and Trav Robertson who made it to the NFL.
3. The proximity value is legit, we are the shortest drive for his family to come see him play.
4. Depth Chart in that we aren't loaded with 4 and 5 *'s already and there isn't a more talented proven RB on the roster than him currently.
5. We are going full scale on his recruitment, Bentley, Muschamp, Roper and BMac are all helping to recruit him.
6. Laytimore's family is even helping by connecting with his family and sharing their experience/story.

This is probably the best shot at a out of state #1 nationally RB that we have ever had since George Rogers.

4* NC RB, Jamal Elliott, now says SC leads. He attended the game against Tenn.

4* GA CB Kyler McMichael was at the Tenn game, he left impressed. He liked everything he saw and said that Williams Brice was the loudest stadium he had been in by far.

The article on Dax Hollifield 4* LB was very encouraging. He brought 13 members of his family to the UT game. Our newest ace recruiter, Bobby Bentley, recruits his area. Shawn Elliot is also in the mix, Hollifields uncles played college ball with Elliot at App State. His direct quote about the night game was that it was "everything he'd ever dreamed" in regards to playing college ball.

Also, SECCountry put out an article also on Jamal Elliot. This quote is great:

“I guess some people are forgetting about South Carolina, but to me, that’s really a running back university."

How many RB's are we taking in the 2018 class? I assume we'd happily make room for Elliot and White if the stars aligned.

Side note, I'm having trouble handling my emotions when it comes to positive recruiting news. It's been so long...

We will take probably 2.

We will probably get Elliott first. Then if White wanted to go to SC we wouldn't turn him down. If not White, we'll take another 4* RB, or Mateo Durant.

In '18, Dowdle, Turner, and Tyson will be Jrs of they are all here.
I dont know if Denson will be here.
Freeman may be a RS Soph
Bryan may be a RS Fr.

So the majority of our RBs will be upperclassmen, therefore I think we take 2 that cycle.

Curious to know on how they plan to allocate carries between these three.
