This team matches up well with us,
They have a shitty defense, we have a shitty defense.
They have a good RB, we have a good RB corp.
Their QB is meh, our QB is meh.
We need to win this game, it will help with recruiting for years to come, we might not play them again for another 20 years. They'll have south florida kids watching them and this game.

quote:Admittedly I haven't watched a lot of their games (mostly just against FSU) so I'm wondering why you think their D is bad? On paper at least it doesn't seem too bad. Pretty good passing D.

Good point about the recruiting. Winning this game won't save our season by any means but losing it would be terrible.

I like that they're coming in off a 3 game losing streak

Duke Johnson is going to own our Defense.

I was there .. the cheap shot, the fight, the outrage and the subsequent press on the game. Our BOTs voted to never schedule them again. Real bad blood.
I think there is video of the cheap shot and brawl on YouTube.

Duke Williams will go HAM on us

Feel the same way

They've allowed 30+ points in 6 games. Their defense isnt even avg nationally. Our defense is bad too. This is going to be a shootout and whoever gets more turnovers will win. Duke Johnson will probably rush for 130+ on us.

I think Spurrier will have the team ready, we'll play a good game. I'm wondering if we'll see more of the younger guys getting in-game experience prepping for next season?
Also, anyone know of a board to interact with Miami fans? Not sure if I have the heart to shite talk though.

Well, lost in all of this is the old rivalry feelings Spurrier and Miami have for each other.
I think I remember him saying at an event that he was 2-1 against them as a player but maybe 0-1 against them as a coach or something? I know Florida and Miami have a history of playing one another back to like WWII, so how many would that be, 60 or 70 games? Except for the fact that I think Spurrier refused to schedule them while he was coaching at Florida for some reason.
Should be some interesting background to all of this that might be combined with our background with Thug U to make for an interesting backstory.

There are a couple, we should pick one and...invade.

I vote we invade this one
At quick glance it seems like most of their posters either think they're definitely gonna lose because of "Folden" ( ) vs. Spurrier and others think they'll definitely win because we suck

I think a lot of them have legit beef with Al Golden. They are tired of the excuses on why they aren't winning big like days of old. Golden just finished his 4th season, went 6-6, and hasn't won more than 9 games yet. That's not better than what Muschamp did at Florida. They dropped their last 3 games too, so there's that lingering taste of disappointment for them.
You're right, many are hoping we blow them out and that ends up in their admins firing Golden. Golden did get a shite hand though with all the Shannon/Shapiro fall out.

Miami's all-time bowl record is 18-17.
Though they are on a 4 game losing streak in bowls, having won their last in 2006.
We need a win to keep us from having a losing season. Our current streak of 11 years without a losing season is the 2nd longest in tSEC, only behind LSU.

Capacity for Independence stadium is 49,500. Between both schools, will it be at even half capacity?
