Honestly, it truly depends on which Mizzou QB plays the game.

1) If Mauk plays (which Pinkel will likely play him due to blind loyalty to upperclassmen)...Mizzou loses.

2) If Drew Lock plays, Mizzou wins in such a fashion that people take notice.

Therefore, South Carolina is likely to win because I guaran-damn-tee that Pinkel trots Mauk out there to start the game. Lock will probably only get one or two drives the whole game.

gonna be a LOS game.

through 4 games - MO defense leads the SEC with 41 tackles for loss, meanwhile USC has registered the least at 16 this season.

on the flip side USC ranks 5th in the league only allowing 16 TFL (Uga 1st w/12) while MO is last in the SEC having allowed 30 TFL so far this season.

USC is +4 on turnover margin so far this year with 3 turnovers lost (1 fum 2 int) through 4 games. MO has 6 turnovers lost (1 fumble 5 int) and is even in margin (2 fum/4 int).

Gamecocks are 4th in the SEC in rushing (LSU/UGA/UTK) at just under 210 ypg. MO is last in the SEC in rushing at 108 ypg.

passing ypg = USC 158 MO 220

something that jumped out was 13 of MO's 78 first downs this season are by penalty. USC has 80 first downs with 5 by penalty.

Fry is 9 of 12 on the season missing 2 ATT of 50+ and 42. MO kicker is 6 of 7 on the season.

the team that moves the chains and doesn't turn the ball over wins. Nunez must take care of the ball and be decisive running the zone read. if Wilds plays, I like USC's chances. if not, the home team likely wins the game.

23-20 final score.

I'd be shocked if we score more than 14. To the poster above, we don't throw over the middle. Our running game is nonexistent. Last game we lost our RT, TE, S and LB who leads the nation in tackles. Starting RB is hurt and Mauk will start and play. I got SC winning 24-10.

It's just going to be an ugly game and frustrating as hell for Missouri fans. I'm not looking forward to it because the change at QB that we need won't happen.

I hope you're right, but I can't see it. If we score more than 20 pts, I'd be really impressed. Both offenses are nothing to write home about. Y'all's defense is statistically A LOT better. Y'all rearranged your OL to have a bunch of Sr's there this game, but you just lost your RT for the game. If Hansborough (sp) is healthy, your running game could come back.

Have y'all played a true dual threat QB yet?

Do we really have one? Nunez can run around a good bit, but he reminds me of Josh Dobbs in that no one is afraid of his arm. And we only have one competent receiver...

Some news on the injury front for our game this week.

quote:

On the injury front, cornerback Chris Lammons was back at practice on Monday but only in a limited contact role. He is expected to be ready to play this week and could reassume his starting role, but the staff will have to see how well he is able to practice as he comes off of the knee injury. The hope is he will be able to go full speed on Tuesday.

Well I wouldn't throw in the towel after his first game. He looked better as the game went on. Don't forget there were a few drops too. I'm not saying he's Connor Shaw, but shite. Give him until at least his second game.

ETA: actually Connor Shaw didn't seem to do too well in his first start either, if I remember correctly.

Hate to say it but I got Mizzou winning pretty easily. I know we feel a little good right now, but the truth is we could only play 1 complete half against the worst team in D1 right now and from what I saw out of us on the road, I don't see any reason to think we play well enough to win.

We are garbage this year and this game will further prove that point on Saturday. Mizzou 28 USC 13

Can I get in on this?

I'm gonna say 27-21 SC wins a close one. Missouri is obviously doing something about their offense today, since they closed practice to the media. I don't think they have enough time to learn it and get in sync for this game.

Guys...he is good but he's a freshman and makes freshman mistakes. I don't think anyone expects to win more games with him but are excited to let him use this season to gain some experience. Having said that I'll change my prediction to 24-17 SC

Please don't misunderstand me- I like Nunez a lot, and he definitely gives us the best chance to win. I don't know how he'll do against a defensive front that will attempt to keep him in the pocket and force him to the air.

I would like to see a dominating statement win on the road, but I don't expect it.

We're horrible at holding the edge. Our ends have a tendency of crashing strong inside, leaving that edge open.
