Hi all!
I requested access to this board a couple of weeks ago and it appears it was approved. I saw this thread and decided to post here to make sure there are no issues if I post here on occasion. As you can see from my post totals, I do not post that often.
A little about me....I was born in Charleston but we moved around quite a bit as my dad was a Commander in the Navy. My mom was born and raised in Lake City and all of her side of the family lives in SC. My brother, a Gamecock alum and season ticket holder lives in Fort Mill.
I am a Mizzou alum and currently live in the St Louis area, but I am most definitely a South Carolinian at heart. From following the Rant for the last two years I understand that there are some heated "discussions" between our fan bases but I do not get involved in those and will always be respectful on this board and in any post I have when it relates to SC.

No that is not her. Mom is a little bit older than 60. If you had a last name I could ask her if she knows the family. Lake City is a small close knit community where all the families know each other. Actually my aunt is around that age so she may even know. I think Mom even knew Darla Moore's family but she graduated 11 or 12 years after Mom.

We have a good thing here. We usually take care of our own. However, we are going to disagree sometimes and we need to not sink to a personal level when that happens.
I agreed with what the poster was saying about the staffing changes, however it was taken a step further when he attacked two prominent posters here and that caused tension.
He can say whatever the hell he wants, for all I care. That's probably why this thread was bumped.

We do have a good thing here ... we really do.
My worry is that we're starting to see some overflow from what is evidently one or two of the shitty boards ... and they want to bring their infighting back-biting ways with them.
None of us always agree with all of us all of the time ... but we never fight out on the open SECr and we always have each other's backs.
