South Carolina quarterback commit Brandon McIlwain (Newton, Pa./Council Rock North) was named MVP of the Elite 11 semifinals and was invited to the Elite 11 finals later this summer in Beaverton, Ore., on the Nike Campus.
McIlwain was invite No. 12 to the event, which features the top quarterback prospects in the country.
Now we just have to get Davis, Hawkins and Nauta to come play with the best QB in the class.

I wish Spurrier would stay until he leaves since Mitch is gonna be a bust.
Wouldn't surprise me if he came in and starter the '16 opener.

Day 2 of The Elite 11 Semi-Finals. If you skip over to the 04:39:00 mark you will see where McIlwain was named camp MVP and get his Elite 11 Finals Invite, as well as an interview. 04:45:10 the coaches there start talking about how McIlwain just dominated and was incredibly focused.

That would be through what ... 2020?
The HBC would be 75?
I dunno. I'm surprised he's stayed this long quite honestly.
I'll be shocked if he is here for two more seasons.
IMHO a lot of it depends upon how well we do this coming season. Another 10 or 11 wins ... I dunno. He might look at The Bear's SEC Win record and see himself surpassing that ... or he might decide to just go-out a big winner especially if we beat UT, UF and CU and win a bowl game to end the season. Especially if we were to, gasp, win the SEC.
Not likely I know .... but it's dream season right now.

More good news.
McIlwain is going to be on the same 7v7 team this summer as:
4* WR Target, Brad Hawkins
and
4* TE Target, Naseir Upshur

My worry is ... and this should not be a worry really but it is .... what if Nunez has a great freshman year and McIlwain decides to go somewhere else because of early playing time?

I'm just not seeing it. Nunez will have a hard time getting on the field this season, IMO, with Mitch and Orth having years of studying the playbook. If Nunez had been an EE this spring, I would say there may have been a better shot for him to get PT.
As of right now, the only way I see Nunez making the field this season is if we have a bad injury to Mitch, and/or our OL completely falls apart and can't protect anyone.
If McIlwain is selected to the Elite 11 and especially if he wins the MVP of the Finals as well, I think he'll know he's going to have an opportunity to start the moment he gets to SC. Although, even with that, it's more realistic that he RS's the first year and then starts in '17.
