We've not talked about them much yet have we?

It's been said they are all 4 star players.

Finish the following sentence.

"I'm really looking forward to seeing ..."

For me I am really looking forward to seeing what Dexter Wideman does this year.

I'm also looking forward to seeing if our sack total goes way up ... or not.

You mean you don't like it when the one time we do break the line, the QB scampers around them and then throws downfield for 10-20 yards?

By the time the DL would get thru the wide receivers had more than enough time to get open. If the DL can shed blocks or beat their guy faster, the better the secondary will look this year.

opposing QB's have to worry about where the hit is coming from again.

Our Dline from a few seasons ago had QB's constantly looking at them and not downfield. I miss that sort of defensive domination.

Dante Sawyer. I'm ready for Buzzsaw to destroy people. He got his weight down and now has a real elite DL Coach providing direction.

My kingdom for a Clowney/Taylor/Ingram!

Seriously though, I really hope we can get some pressure on QBs this year. That would really give the secondary (arguably the weakest positions on our team) some much needed support and allow them to go get the ball more.

Seems like ... I mean on paper I can't help but believe that we have a lot of potential along the DLine.

And as everyone is thinking right now - if our DLine can get some pressure in backfields then that is going to make it much easier on our secondary.

I was watching a replay of the Kentucky game the other day. Good gosh we should have won that game. But here's the thing. Our DBs were playing press man coverage until it became obvious that Kentucky had all day to throw the ball and our coaches decided to drop our secondary into zone ... and that was basically the end of the season. It looked bad for our secondary but, in fact, our DLine was just horrendous. I had forgotten that to some degree, I mean the part about our DLine not helping our cause in the least.

So I guess it goes back to the age-old adage. It's all about the trenches. We really need our DLine to overachieve this season and surprise us.

curious to see if this new staff can finally make D English an impact player off the edge. also looking forward to watching BAW and hopefully Boosie in the 'buck' position.

we haven't seen a Gamecock D consistently play in an opponent's backfield since 2013. USC's best chance to get highly competitive again, real quick, resides on the defensive side of the ball wreaking havoc and creating pressure.
