Just got a tweet from WIS that Nunez will start on Saturday. Might put an extra 5,000 in the seats for a game that probably would have seen about 55,000-60,000 in attendance.

I'm actually kind of excited.

Me too. I expect the offense to be very run-oriented, but we need to get the kid some experience.

I am glad he is starting; I am actually kind of surprised that Spurrier pulled the trigger to let him do it.

Let's hope Spurrier has some plan of damage control this weekend. If not, the team isn't going to move forward. Losing to UCF will only demoralize them even further than they already are. Results need to be made now before they are too deep into the season to salvage it. Spurrier better know what he's doing to snap this losing streak as quick as possible before things get uglier than they already are.

Hate to say this, but UCF came at the perfect time. They are the worst team that we play all year, so we need to beat them soundly on Saturday so that we can gain some confidence.

4 games. 3 QBs making their first starts. A good indication of how the season has gone.

Nunez is the first true freshman QB to ever start for a Spurrier coached team. I was thinking that one did at Florida for some reason, maybe Grossman, but I was wrong.

Plus 3-4 new defensive starters, hell at least they're shaking things up. Not putting the same people on the field. Sort of excited to see Nunez in action, even if it is with a somewhat limited playbook.

Glad to see he's starting, now I just hope he gets to air it out. Really need to get him comfortable back there before heading to Mizzou.
Even if he isn't 100% on the playbook it has to be better than pulling him on every obvious passing down like last week.

I think the playbook angle may be overplayed. Hell the other qbs were there longer and we're still inept. I think that was just an excuse to go with seniority on spurrier a part

Probably has a little to do with seniority but I doubt a true freshman has mastered Spurrier's offense in 3 months. He's a quick learner but there's no way he's 100% on it.

Might as well, we have nothing to lose and at least he makes the QB position muti dimensional.

I am excited, but feel bad for Orth. He played well enough at UGA, now Nunez will get to play a weak team and potentially look great by comparison.

I don't think Orth necessarily played well enough against UGA. He missed several passes, and even a few of the ones he connected on were shaky.
I hope that Nunez lights it up so that we can have someone with some confidence going into Mizzou.

I would be pretty enthusiastic after the Nunez news this week if I were a Carolina fan. I'll be honest, I knew nothing about this kid, and I usually keep up with Carolina's recruiting pretty closely. After listening to his interviews and seeing his skill-set on the field, he looks rather cerebral and lighting fast. To be completely honest, he should have started before Mitch, even with his lack of playbook knowledge. Skill can beat out knowledge in the SEC as we have seen with Tim Tebow.
You guys will get a W this coming Saturday, and probably look pretty good doing it.
I was having a conversation with a co-worker yesterday downtown where I work, and I told him that LSU could be a surprise win for you guys. He wouldn't have it, but the fact is, it could happen. LSU is getting a lot of hype right now because of one player. They are great in the trenches as always, but Harris is still unproven making them one dimensional. If Nunez can get his feet under him, control the clock at home, and tackle Fournette with 9 or 10 guys in the box, I think Carolina stands a very good chance.
Just my opinion.
Oh, and Skai Moore is a beast.

We are not gonna beat LSU.
Fournette will drag all 11 of our defenders 50 yards for a TD if Skai Moore isn't one of them and Harris will probably break Lamberts single game completion percentage record.
