Mash here for memorial service music before reading further

In many cultures it's desired to bury the dead within 3 days. Welcome to the Memorial Service for SCRooster. (We don't really know if he's dead, but he was old as dirt and hasn't posted the past couple days since his ban was lifted...so he might be dead or in a V.A. geriatric facility with a shitty Wi-Fi signal.)

Either way, you can use this thread to post your most fond memories/posts of SCRooster.

quote:

Ezekiel 25:17
The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he, who in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who would attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know my name is the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon thee.

This scripture reminds me of SCRooster b/c of the "Circle the Wagons" thread

The flames of hate burned brightly with SCRooster. He hated the dogs, the aggies, and of course...

SCRooster was a Resident Ethicist, and we're still trying to figure out what exactly that is...but he was also a devoted College Football fan since birth - a long time ago.

His interests included Gamecock Sports, hunting, fishing, shooting, rescuing dogs, reloading, women of all shapes and sizes.

He was a self described lover, fighter, and wild bull rider. He said he served out country in the military, but we don't know which war, (my money is on the War of Northern Aggression.)

SCRooster was taken away from the SECr too soon (allegedly for engaging in discussion about the Mizzou rape/coverup.)
However, the SECr gathered together to raise support for his return.

So as we come together to post our last respects to SCRooster, let us not mourn the poster we lost, but celebrate the laughs and enjoyment he gave us. Please feel free to post funny stories or links to posts by SCRooster that you enjoyed.

YOU ONLY LIVE...TWICE..........****UPDATE****

SCRooster was again taken from us, this time by a terrorist volunteer organization of orange clad, bearded liberals.

A Help Board Thread has been created to support his return.
https://www.secrant.com/rant/help/please-reinstate-scrooster/57857449/
However, we're still fighting the PMS'ing terrorists on that board too.

I believe there will be a reinstatement thread before the season, we'll just hope the old man doesn't kick the bucket before then. If he does kick the bucket, you better believe that bucket is going to be orange.

This was some classic SCRooster

At Waffle House

Typical conversation about wives, beer, cigars, football, etc.

Then an entertaining anecdote

quote:

Then as I am about to take another bite of my egg white omelet, in walks this guy, this former player of ours who is now playing in the NFL at DT .... you know, the one that reminds us of John Henderson the great former UT DT. I mean how impressive is our guy looking these days huh?

At least that's what all of us were thinking ... had to be one of our former players, right?

Then, once he picks-up his to-go bag and leaves, we're all looking around at one another asking, "who the hell is that?" Especially me, I know all the former guys especially - first name basis, but I could not recall ever seeing this guy before. But one of our guys in the group still works around there, in there, let's say ... and he knows who this guy is, this NFLer come back to work-out at our facilities.

It was frickin' Lamin.

I am telling you he is a physical specimen. I was wearing an old Cleveland Pinckney sweatshirt this morning, one of the old black Russell Carolina football sweatshirts that Cleveland gave me years ago - still got his name scribbled on the back in indelible ink. Pinkey was da man.

At Waffle House

Was reading this article that was posted on the MSB and immediately thought of scrooster when I saw this

quote:

Bag men tend to operate in plain sight. And while there might be a kind of cabal of particularly rich boosters who direct operations at private meetings, there aren't dungeons and robes or some kind of "X-Files" syndicate in a smoky boardroom.

"No secret lair, although a couple guys have some pretty ridiculous-looking hunting camps. I mean, we're shooting the shite about college football players. That in and of itself isn't a crime. Sometimes we go to the Waffle House."

eta- a great post from scrooster that I found for a thread on the rant

quote:

Hyman is such a douche bag. I was so damn happy to see him go. The asshat was taking credit for the grass growing and the sky being blue by the time he left.

It's good to be appreciated. I deserve this. But I want y'all to know that I appreciate y'all far more than you know.

BTW, wtf did I do to get the ban hammer? I still have not a clue.

Saw JFF at The Masters though. Came by my tee box with four green beer cups stacked underneath a full cup. He had a bit of an entourage but it was probably not needed there. No one seemed to care. Talked to the HBC one day, the defense guys the day before. I had a different Gamecock hat on my tee every day so I drew a lot of Gamecock fans at usually on both 1 and 10. So this Auburn fan hears a friend of mine talking to me calling me Scrooster and he comes over to me and asks, "are you the old man who posts on the SEC Rant?" I said, "The SEC what? And do I really look that old?" He said, no, you're not as old as I pictured if you are Scrooster?" I said, well, yeah, I'm him, why did they ban me?" He said, "I don't know. Damn you're tall!" I said, "Go Cocks, see you in Auburn this fall." "He said, "yeah you will and we're going to kick your arse again."

Then the next group walked up to the tee and I had to go.

I was busy during the ban. Almost stabbed some strange in Augusta one night with that drunk Daley.

First thing on my list ... Board Wars. I promise. I'm golfing with my Son tomorrow, but after that, over the weekend probably, I am going to start with Board Wars.

It's down-time dead-period and y'all definitely deserve to read the story from my perspective. I was a neutral observer at first, but then it became personal and I remember almost everything and am trying to take notes as I remember more of it at various times.

I'm ready. It may be a short book in length, but it is, it will be, the way it happened, the way it went down and it will probably shock you.
