As a baseball fan period, I'm glad my Tigers have given us a product worth half way following. As a fan, I'm also fully aware that our record is as much a product of our schedule so far as it is the product of the play on the field.

So, tell me what to look forward to with the Gamecocks this weekend. It looks like the top of your order can flat out hit and the Caldwell kid is just on another level right now. Who else should I keep an eye out for?

What's the story on the bottom of the lineup. Batting averages don't tell everything about a player. Are they solid bats just waiting to bust out? Are there others on the bench you'd rather see get the chance?

Who are your weekend starters? Wynkoop, Crowe and Reagan? Looks like that Crowe kid is a strike out machine. What's the story on your weekend starters?

Looking forward to this weekend. Obviously the absolutely biggest test for the Tigers to date. I would be extremely happy if we can find a way to win 1 this weekend. Goes without saying what I'd do if we fell into 2 wins.

Best of luck this weekend. Looking forward to it.

Keep an eye out on Schrock, Martin, Caldwell & Destino all 4 can just flat out hit.

Bottom of the lineup is pretty lackluster like you mentioned. Koch/Taylor, Mooney & Arendas are all in their for their defense and they're the best we have to work with in our lineup.

Crowe & Wynkoop are both legit Friday night guys, Clarke Schmidt who is a true FR recently took the Sunday role and has been impressive.

Expect it to be a good series, lots of good pitching.

Hope so.

It's just so hard to tell what to expect because of the competition we've played. Sweeping UGA was a good sign.

We throw a freshman on Saturdays. His ERA is the worst of the 3 at a 3.21 ERA but he's still been pretty solid. Think he's only walked 3 all season.

Our Sunday starter is a junior who's thrown pretty well, with a 1.52 ERA. We have 2 other starters that I was really hoping would get a shot at the weekends, a former 2nd round pick but he has some control issues and then another freshman who brings it 96-98. He's only thrown 5 innings but has yet to give up a hit.

Mizzou's biggest problems over recent years has been fielding and hitting. They've cut back on the errors so far and the hitting, while not at SC Caldwell levels, is improved. A freshman catcher, Bond is leading the team in hitting and seems to be solid. I'll bet we didn't have 5 guys hitting over .200 last year at this time. Nearly everyone is so far this year, though that's bound to change now that we're in conference play.

I'm actually looking forward to the series this weekend.

I think they are all going to be televised perhaps?

This is correct, though I'm sure you can catch it Saturday online if you prefer watching that way.
