Yeah, they're insufferable. They genuinely hate mUSChamp for some reason. You would think they'd be over it by now and focusing on their own problems. I'm beginning to think the majority of their fanbase are nothing more than jort wearing simpletons.

I think it's comforting for them to blame Muschamp. It pegs an individual instead of a program.

They aren't completely wrong about him, and they weren't wrong for firing him IMO, but at this point it just reeks of obsession.

Blaming Muschamp and blaming McElwain instead of noticing the pattern since Meyer.

Based upon how mUSChamp responds to this game, provided he recognizes the obvious issues and addresses them quickly, I'd still rather have mUSChamp than McElwain. mUSChamp would have won his next year at Florida had he been given the chance IMHO. And they'd be in much better shape than they are now.

At least mUSChamp has a fire about him. McElwain is too much like Sparky Woods. mUSChamp will get the problem solved, I believe. He has no choice. Roper will be ready the riot act in their meetings today. And we were watching the post game press conference on the closed circuit last night and mUSChamp has already made a decision on the kicking game. I doubt Wozniak will see the field again. He's done. They'll be looking for a #2 kicker beginning today. Parker will have lead foot by Wednesday, they'll have him kicking so many Xpts and FGs this week.

This is reality. Muschamp was a reject when he was hired, and Carolina was turned down by Herman, Smart, and possibly Riley (If Stoops promised him the job). Tanner hired a guy who literally didn't have any other prospects, and that's why he fell to us in the first place.

He may be the right coach for the program still; the narrative that he's a leftover and the right guy aren't mutually exclusive. But until he does anything of note, Florida fans and the rest of the conference (save Mizzou) will shite on him. That's just the way it is.

McElwain may be a shitty coach, but he's 12-1 at home, and has Florida primed for another Atlanta run. We'd kill for results like that.

THe funny thing about this, is Florida is ranked below SC in almost every Offensive category.

Total Offense SC 112 Fl 121
Rushing offense 119 Fl 117
Passing offense SC 64 Fl 91
Scoring offense SC 85 FL 107
Team Passing efficiency SC 58 Fl 80

Was Fuente ever a thought?

(just adding to another coach who was available at the time)

Fans wanted him, but Rooster said there were major flags about his desire to recruit, and that Fuente wasn't interested in the job here. Va Tech is a better job for a host of reasons, not the least of which is the relative lack of competition from the in-state rival.

The post-Spurrier coaching search has been a sobering, relatively painful process that reminded all of us how the professional coaching class views this job. It's insanity to think that Purdue has a brighter future than Carolina, but that's where we are.

Why do you say that?

Creativity in the offense from Jeff Brohm, and how well a team that doesn't have near the talent that even Carolina does is squeezing everything out of it via play design and coaching.

Take a look through this article. Can you imagine how dominant Hurst and Edwards would be in that scheme? Brohm is a Petrino disciple, and we know that system has had success in the SEC.

Purdue and Carolina are similar. Neither have had much historical success, neither are the dominant athletics department in their own (small) states, and neither play in a particularly difficult division. Carolina crushes Purdue in fan support, AINEC. Yet, Purdue looks significantly further along in its development under a new coach in Year One, than Carolina does in Year Two.

I'm an alum of both schools, but Purdue's football program is trending higher, and much faster. That should never be the case.

Gotcha.

Didn't know that and had no idea about them.

Would have loved for a coach like that.

(IE Reilly, Fuente etc)

One of those offenses you can get away with the lack of talent.

'Belle and a few other UK fans had mentioned his name during our search. I never let myself consider it after the last coach (albeit hoops) who came to USC from that school failed miserably. I also thought he'd have difficulties putting a staff together who could walk into homes in our recruiting base and get results. his offensive acumen clearly stands on its own merit.

Brohm is legit, though. Western misses him. Purdue will own their state sooner than later if he stays. they have a chance this weekend to take down hairball and put themselves right in the fray of their conference race. I hope they do.
