Honest question for the Fanbase

I have seen many posters on other sites express the notion that our opening at Baseball Coach would be a lateral move for many of the coaches mentioned. In addition, they are using the very reason why we are having a coaching hire, the fact that despite having all the advantages in the world there were no results to show for it, as the rationale behind this statement.
Am I the only one calling bullshite? Am I the only one who thinks that everything that we had going right for us under Tanner is still going right sans the coaching?

The only one I've heard this lateral move crap about is Sully.
To be honest, it's not a lateral move but the gap isn't large enough for many to believe a move like that would happen.
We are having a coaching hire because our coach didn't live to expectations. What is funny is that many of the fans claiming this would kill for the seasons we've had under Holbrook.
