what does that mean?

I don't know. We use to say that "he'll be a scout team guy, you won't hear about him," but then Perry Orth happened.

agreed, if he's anywhere close to the performance level that # is associated with, we'll be in a good position.

The was a Corey Robinson/Mason Zandi like guy that Elliott really liked in camp, and he's looking at like a project. Raw talent, but hasn't been developed yet. Not enough room to offer him a scholarship spot yet though.

Still waiting on him to qualify, we'll know more in August.

I was hoping he would've slimmed down more before arriving to campus. He has great hands, body control, leaping ability, but his knock right now is on speed. He needs to lose 20 lbs and work on S&C speed drills all summer while he's here.

He won't be a freshman though....

edit: oh well, there are others on the list who aren't freshmen, so nevermind that. We also are missing Bryan Edwards (#89 - 6-3, 210), and Pete Leota (#65 - 6-4, 315)....

I am a bit concerned about Cooperwood's weight. He was always listed around 325-330 during his recruitment, but then in June was listed at the 359 he now is at. Were they low-balling his weight, or did he gain 40 lbs during the off-season?? I know he's 6-8, but still 360 lbs is still 360 lbs, and I wonder how that weight will effect his athleticism and endurance throughout the tough SEC schedule.

He was expected to step in and challenge for a spot on the OL 2-deep, at the very least - perhaps even earn a starting job. We'll see how it goes...

He will be a RS Fr this year. He played last year at unc and has a RS year available, so this is going to be it. He will have 4 years left to play 3. He can't play a game until '17's season though.

They are on there now. Pete is on there as Pike Leota.

I'm just stoked he qualified. He was on the fence for the spring and summer, then in mid July a report came out that he was looking good to qualify, but you never know. So now he's on the roster and that is a huge benefit to our OL depth.

I agree, I think he'll challenge for a starting spot, but he's too big right now to be that effective in run blocking. We need him to cut 30 lbs this month, which is actually very possible at the size he's at. Once a dude is over 300 lbs, it's really feasible to lose at least 1 lb per day. Especially since he'll be outside practicing, next to the sun, in Columbia in August.
