Take Jake Bentley off the board for the '17 class...b/c he's early enrolling this SUMMER!
He has the credits to do that. He was going to EE anyways after the fall semester, but he found out he can actually EE after May.
Big news for the program. Also, he'll technically count for the '16 Recruiting class now. So I think SCRooster actually would win that Signing Day/Class Ranking bet now.

I looked at the 247 Class Calculator. You can't just add Bentley, at the moment, to the '16 class. So I found a '16 cycle QB with a similar 247 Composite rating, Dwayne Haskins. I added him to our class and it jumped us to 222-ish points, which would put us at #24 for the '16 Class Ranking and bump Ark out of the Top25.

4* DE/Buck Brad Johnson had a good visit to SC today, came down with his coach. He's expected to make a decision sooner than later, SC leads, but I don't think he's planning on announcing this week though. (just guessing though, I don't know if he has a time frame, but he said a decision is coming sooner than later.)

Dutch Fork WR, Austin Connor, is seeing his stock rise. He was offered by SC, Duke, Army, Georgia, and Tennessee in the past month. He wants to major in Engineering. I don't think academics are going to be an issue for him if he already got a Duke and West Point.

JUCO WR Stephen Guidry - who is our highest-rated prospect for the 2017 class - has de-committed and is opening his recruitment back up.
Hopefully we have a good enough 2016 season to bring him back, but we offered him back before many others, and his recruitment blew up with a lot of offers coming in afterwards....

Shawn smith finished as the 3rd overall offensive player at the last opening camp. Bartow was high on him

Hopefully they will be good ones ... I was getting positions a little confused because I was hearing WR this and WR that from the BBQ when one turned out to be a RB ... Smith.

We just offered DE/OLB Rod Jones Jr, CA JUCO Def Player of the Year. His dad played in the NFL for 11 years.
6'2" 240 lbs
53 tackles, 16.5 sacks, 26 tackles-for-loss, 4 forced fumbles and 2 fumble recoveries last year.

Right now I'm trying to figure out why this kid didn't have more offers. There has to be more to this, maybe he was a borderline/late qualifier and his spring grades determined his ability to go D1. He stands out on film. I don't know a lot about the CA JUCO league, but I would imagine it's just as competitive as the MS and KS JUCO leagues. His team won their division and went 12-1 last year. Maybe it's the 6'2" but I can think of a fistful of other highly ranked DE's who were 6'2".
I'm pretty sure he's for the 2016 class.

Smith is a 3 for now, could go up. The rb is a 4 star on rivals

Just saw on Twitter where Logan Rudolph committed to Clemson. Sort of shocked by this development.
