Mike is correct in the recommit guy. However the chatter on 247 is that we are looking at Chad Terrell, more of a bigger receiver than a slot guy like smith.

I'd be happy with Terrell or Guidry. Both are big bodied boys that look like they have good hands.
Having multiple big bodied receives will be nice for a change. Seems like after Alshon left, we never had a receiver over 6'.

Tony over at 247 says he hasn't heard anything else on it. CIYE has been quiet of late. He get banned again? maybe he has been to the barbershop to get the inside scoop.

I'd take my chances on Terrell. Guidry seems like a guy who's one coaching hire away from flipping back to LSU

I think my son knows CIYE or something, somehow. I'll call him in a little while once he is off work and see if he knows how to get in touch with him.

Hey rooster...has there been any mention of us looking at former Carolina qb Ronnie "Sunshine" Bass's son? He's named after his dad and is the qb at North Myrtle Beach HS and there's been a lot of chatter about the job he's done up there.
Just curious..hadn't heard a thing about him mentioned anywhere.

I know Ronnie ... and I had no clue CG. I mean I knew he had moved to the coast from where he was up around Greenville when he was working the Asheville area for WOLO or whoever that was. I had heard from another friend, Marty Woolbright, that Ronnie Jr was looking like a good HS player ... but that was a couple of years ago. I actually ran into Ronnie on Little River while visiting a friend just before my friend moved to California.
I'll do some checking - will try giving him a call. It'll be neat to catch up but I had no idea his little boy was all grown up - it just didn't register.

Recruiting is literally all Elliott is good for, and he's sub-par at best.

I said it on other sites so why not one more time. If Elliot doesn't get the can, this kid just saved us from ourselves. He was going to be yet another guy who is clearly a Guard at the college level, everyone but us was recruiting him as a Guard on the college level, he plays Guard at the HS level for Christ's sake. That being said, if we can get him back and make it clear that he's a Guard, that's one thing. Thinking this kid will magically transform into some sort of beautiful Tackle butterfly is another.

I want Jeff Grimves from LSU if we end up going a new direction. However, there are some other great options out there too. I can imagine that Boom is going to be ticked about losing a guy b/c he said we were contacting him less...unless they didn't like how he was playing this year and decided to focus elsewhere (like the Drake kid from FL.)

FWIW word is that Jerry Drake Jr. is closing in on a decision and it could come as early as this week. The young man is 6-6 300lbs. He is not as highly ranked as Moore who just decommitted but his offer list is impressive, all the heavy hitters offered, and he projects as a LT where Moore is a guard that we were hoping could become a tackle.

So with as bad as our Safeties look, we may be taking 2 JUCO DBs in this class. Johnathan Abram visits this weekend, and there was another mentioned this morning. There was also some murmuring on getting in on Kaleb Chalmers. Was at Greenwood, was a 3*/4* outta HS, went to Clemmy, got kicked out before freshman season for weed possession. The questions on him are: are we really talking to him (no one gives definitive answers) and will the bullshite SEC rules that kept JC Jackson from being able to transfer into an SEC school keep Chalmers from doing the same.
