We saw all of these guys ... looked like they were having a good time. They were there off to the side for the Gamecock Walk. Then again they brought them out to the tunnel for the entrance.
After the game quite a few of them were still together down around the player entrance laughing and having a good time. XLete (x-leet) sticks out among all of them and I can tell you now, without going into too much detail, that he is a magnetic individual, a leader and he is without a doubt helping us to recruit. He's gonna be our next big legendary Gamecock. Something very special about that young man and not wanting to jinx it - but he's got Gamecock in his blood.
You know a leader when you see one, hear one, talk to one. He's polite, intelligent, confident and he looks you straight in the eye when he is speaking with you. He's got a plan and he's executing that plan - the kid is mature for his age.
We just need to make sure to do our part. Keep showing improvement, keep in contact with him and make sure we never take his loyalty to us for granted, keep building that relationship ... he's going to be a major player for us before we know it.
White looked like a kid in a candy store. He seemed really happy - he was all smiles. Thomas and he appear to have really struck-up a friendship already. Are they in the same class?
And then there was Jamyest Williams ... he's got the it factor too with his presence among the other guys. There were other prospects who were sort of gravitating around him ... and he was the smallest of the bunch but man that kid is in shape. He's very polite too.
Also, we were engaged by some of the parents just asking questions. Good bunch of people ... proud parents and friends. We kept telling them that the environment is actually much better for conference games and to not think that "this" was as good as it gets. They all seemed to have had a really good time and all of them that we spoke with expressed how impressed they are with our staff and their approach to the recruiting stuff.
BTW ... that packet thing. We can thank Jesse Jackson for that - she's the key to everything. She's the motor/coordinator behind the scenes and not only is she a professional, but all of these prospects love her. She's got the whole big sister thing going on but it's more than that. She's really a magnetic dynamic part of our system.
Oh, and to a man, everyone was impressed with our facilities. Plus they were all fully briefed on the new football complex that will be up and running for most, if not all (for some of them) of their careers here.

Yes both 2018. 2 of the top 5 in that class.

Amazing info thanks all around.
Definitely things are looking up for the future. If we continue this way I can only imagine the kind of class we will pull in next cycle.

Thanks ... I thought so. But when I got back to the Cockaboose there was some young guy there that claimed to be a recruiting guru of sorts who told us one was this year and one is for next year. I thought they looked like they were the same age and stage.
I think there were two groups I guess, sorta separated ... different ages evidently but those five were in the middle between the two.
Next big weekend they were all talking about coming back for is the Tennessee game.

Call me insane, but I genuinely believe USC wins that game.

Also, someone that we haven't brought up, or at least I don't think we have, is Aaron Sterling. Rivals has him as a 4* DL for 2017. Just decommitted from Bama and is rumored to be visiting for the UGA game. He camped with us this summer IIRC.

Looks like Kinlaw is staying loyal to his commit to us even after Bama offered ....

Monday’s tender from Alabama won’t change those plans.
“They offered me in high school so it’s a bold statement from them,” Kinlaw told SEC Country, “But I’m still 100 percent a Gamecock.”
A few days before the Mississippi State game, South Carolina defensive line coach Lance Thompson watched Kinlaw play against Mississippi Delta.
Kinlaw, who’s from Goose Creek, S.C., has 11 tackles and 3 sacks in three games for Jones County.

That's what I tend to look for in our targets more than the star rankings...who else is offering. If the kid impresses Saban to the point of offer, then that's good enough for me.
As Enzo and Cass like to say, the kid is 6'5" and 275 lb and you can't teach that. He's got potential to be havoc on the end and perfect for the side opposite the buck.
So who are the likely commits and high priority targets/leans still for the '17 class?

I do as well ... I look at who else has offered and who else is still actively recruiting a kid.
We've beaten Bama and Saban out for a few over the years - and they've usually turned-out to be pretty good players.
This staff though, if we can just win some games and keep improving ... this staff is going to take our recruiting to a level we've never seen before IMHO. I'm starting to believe that other programs track this staff of ours hoping to back door a prospect or recruit that our staff finds and deems offerable.

A lot of it will depend on attrition. I think the pundits were thinking this class would be about 25 total but I think slight attrition will be needed to get even there. We have the Abram kid, safety that transferred from uga that we are fighting for. I'd put him at the top of the board. JC over at 247 gets asked this alot. He says that we are in with some guys who we are not widely known to be in the hunt for but Is very vague in his answers.

Hey guys. First let me say thank you for giving me posting access to the board. Y'all are good people.
Are your recruiting analysts saying anything about former Alabama commit Aaron Sterling? I see where he was CB'd to y'all today.

Everything that I have seen seems to indicate it will come down to us or UGA. Not much news other than we are trying to get him tbh.

The Georgia board doesn't think they are after him too hard. I read on SEC Country that USC and Tennessee were recruiting him the hardest.
I wish we had held onto him. He is an absolute stud rushing the passer. I believe he had 21 sacks as a Junior.

If I remember correctly, he played for Stephenson last year on a loaded team against a JV schedule.

He's @ Tucker now, notorious for producing GAHS playoff teams and good defenses. He will for sure get some serious steps up in understanding scheme there. They always produce decent prospects, especially on DL.

Who produces more high school talent, Stephenson or Tucker? They both churn out some amazing players every year.
Posted on 9/22/16 at 8:57 am to Porter Osborne Jr
Sterling set an OV today I believe. Also Jonathan Abram, or is it Abraham?, anyway he set an OV for the SC-UGA game.

As of the last few years, I would say Stephenson. Tucker has produced a lot of good talent but in the last few years I would say Stephenson has the edge.

The only problem with Stephenson kids is they come in so raw because they don't get the coaching they deserve.
