At the close of the 2013 season, who is going to have better stats for their position, for our guys?

Some of these could be easy picks, some a little harder.

QB - Shaw or Thompson

RB - Davis or Wilds or "Other"

WR - Ellington or Roland or Jones or Byrd or "Other"

TE - Buster or Adams or Owens

DE1 - Clowney or Sutton

DE2 - Dixon or English

DT1 - Quarles or Surratt

DT2 - Dixon Jr or Dukes

LB1 - Cooper or Lewis or Holloman or "Other"

LB2 - Rainey or Bryant or Roberts

CB - Legree or Hampton or "Other"

S - Williams or Marcus or Elder or "Other"

QB - Shaw

I think Thompson will get his share, but Shaw will remain the man until he graduates.

RB - Davis or Wilds or "Other"

?? Not sure here. Both Wilds and Davis have game experience to rely on, which should put them in the front, but we are very deep in the backfield with several guys who could step up. I do think one of them will show out and take the position outright. I don't know that a committee approach is in our best interest.

TE - Buster

Another deep spot on the roster, but I think Anderson has the edge in ability right now.

quote:

DE1 - Clowney

Sutton should be great and will clean up when teams try to double/triple team Clowney, but this is Jadaveon Clowney we're talking about. He might break people this year...

quote:

DE2 - English

I think he has great potential and ability. He seems to be adding weight to make him an even more explosive option in the backup roll this year.

quote:

DT1 - Quarles

Surratt has the size to make his presence known in the middle, but Quarles is just too talented to pick against.

quote:

DT2 - Dixon Jr or Dukes

My gut says Dukes, but this could be a tossup, really. Both should be good, though.

quote:

LB1 - Holloman

I'm tempted to say Cooper, initially, but something about Holloman makes me think he will end up being the star of the bunch.

quote:

LB2 - Rainey or Bryant

This should be a fun battle. I think both are talented and could excell. Maybe a slight edge to Rainey as he will have more time (though limited at LB) in the system.

quote:

CB - Hampton

He should turn heads this year in an effort to up his draftability. I think one of the "Other"s to watch out for is McWilliams. He was making waves last fall before being injured. If he comes back he could be fun to watch.

quote:

S - Williams

I think Elder is the future at Safety, but Williams is the present.

Some of these could be easy picks, some a little harder.

QB - Shaw or Thompson (Shaw if he can stay healthy)

RB - Davis or Wilds or "Other" (Tough one: Davis has great talent, but Wilds IMO was underrated coming out of HS, and has greater experience. If Davis performs well enough, he could maintain getting 60% of the workload throughout the season, so I say Davis)

WR - Ellington or Roland or Jones or Byrd or "Other" (IMO Ellington the first half of the season, then Roland the 2nd half as he becomes acclimated)

TE - Buster or Adams or Owens (Anderson should have a breakout season if they give him enough opportunities)

DE1 - Clowney or Sutton (Sutton should benefit from all the attention JC gets, and he should also have a strong season, but I think JC will be too unstoppable)

DE2 - Dixon or English (I think English will prosper in the Rabbit pkg)

DT1 - Quarles or Surratt (I'm expecting Kelcey to have an All-Conference caliber season)

DT2 - Dixon Jr or Dukes (Dixon impressed early on, but Dukes has come on strong during this off-season. Slight edge to Junior until I see more in-game from Phillip)

LB1 - Cooper or Lewis or Holloman or "Other" (Cooper has been so hyped since he's been at USC, if he can fully recover from his injury we could see an impact. Have heard great things about Lewis as well)

LB2 - Rainey or Bryant or Roberts (I'm really excited to see what Bryant brings to the table this fall. He's the kind of talent that you usually can't keep off the field even as a true Fr. Rainey was very impressive picking off so many passes from our QBs this past spring. I haven't seen much from Roberts yet to know about him)

CB - Legree or Hampton or "Other" (Hampton has the talent to be All-Conference, if he can stay focused and improve his consistency. Legree should be improved from last yr., but Hampton is the better talent here)

S - Williams or Marcus or Elder or "Other" (I think Brison is very talented, and the experience he got last season should help him step up even more at Strong Safety in '13., Elder impressed playing at FS this spring, but Gurley seems to be Swearinger Part 2, if he can recover enough from his ACL injury)

QB - Shaw, people clamoring for Thompson are ignoring the fact that Clemson's secondary can't catch shite and that Shaw was hurt all year.

RB - Davis, but I think Wilds will get his fair share. Their two styles compliment each other very well, IMO.

WR - Ellington, Byrd, Smith (Kwinton)

TE - Busta, Adams #2

DE1 - Clowney comin'

DT1 - Quarles - anyone else think he's the forgotten man on this line? Dude makes some plays, and it's awesome when he gets all jacked up.

DT2 - Dixon Jr.

DE2 - Sutton

If you insist, I Think English will be the 3rd man in the rabbit over Dixon Jr, but obviously Clowney & Sutton are the #1&2.

LB1 - Cooper

LB2 - I have no fricking idea, Rainey would be awesome if he can pick it all up in time.

CB - Vic is the DJ of this year's secondary, hopefully without all the funny 15 yard penalties.

S - TJ Gurley is my favorite, but don't know what his injury recovery status is, so I'll say Brison.

What is the word on Shon Carson's injuries? Personally I thought he was better than both but just can't stay fit.

As of this moment in time, Carson is healthy and able to play/workout. What he knows, as good as anybody, is that he's missed 2 seasons with injuries, and if he misses a 3rd, he's probably going to need to refocus his athletic direction.

He very well could step in and be the man, but we won't know until fall camp.

QB - Shaw or Thompson ... it's Shaw. Thompson will get his time.

RB - Davis or Wilds or "Other" ... Davis, but Wilds will get plenty of carries and I would not be surprised to see Shon Carson quite a bit from what I am hearing.

WR - Ellington or Roland or Jones or Byrd or "Other" ... Ellington and Jones. Roland has potential but has to show it yet. He has to loosen-up. Byrd had off-season eye surgery which is going to help him a ton. Kwinton Smith is going to contribute quite a bit as well.

TE - Buster or Adams or Owens ... Adams and Buster.

DE1 (Weak side) - Clowney or Sutton ... Clowney, with Dixon being moved behind him.

DE2 (Strong side) - Dixon or English ... Sutton, with English behind him.

DT1 - Quarles or Surratt ... Quarles

DT2 - Dixon Jr or Dukes ... both equally.

LB1 - Cooper or Lewis or Holloman or "Other" ... no idea.

LB2 - Rainey or Bryant or Roberts ... no idea.

CB - Legree or Hampton or "Other" ... both.

S - Williams or Marcus or Elder or "Other" ... Williams and Elder.

Should this even be a question?

Well, yeah. You obviously know very little about Chaz Sutton, but he could very well be a first round draft pick as well.

Additionally, Clowney is going to be double and triple teamed so often that Chaz is going to get his shots with no back chipping him like they will be Clowney.

and to answer dawg's question, like I said in the OP, some are easier than others to predict. SCRooster does have a point, sometime star DL get a lot of attention from OL's, and other guys get the stats (Ingram benefited from that in '10 and '11.)
