That's disappointing, IMO. He was a stud in HS and set all kinds of NC HS records, but he never really got it going college. He had the frame and ability, but obviously it's now apparent that he lacked the mentality to put it all together. I was really hoping Mitch would get his shite together this year and win back the starting job, but he quit, so that's that.
I'm even more sure now that McIlwain is going to be our QB this season. Orth just doesn't have "IT" and he makes to many bad plays/poor throws. McIlwain is already a better athlete and more elusive, he'll be able to extend drives for us.

Few days late on this ha. Yeah he was never there mentally. I follow the kid on twitter and I don't hardly see anything about football.

True this has been common thought for awhile with this kid. That's why everybody quit talking about him after he got hurt last year. He was not a leader and needed to go, among a few others on the team. Right now we need a QB like McIlwain and everyone knows it. Long term we are solid at the position which is something we lacked with Spurrier. Muschamp already knows he needs guys like McIlwain and Bently to lead this team into the future.
