Very nice.

Not a lot coming out of the Seventh Woods visit accept that he enjoyed it.

ESPN 100 big man 6-10 Sedee Keita, a major Frank Martin target for this next class along with Woods, has transferred back to the state of SC from Putnam Science Academy in Connecticut ... he enrolled in 22 Feet Academy (Greenville) this morning. https://www.22ftusa.com/

Don't know if it's official yet, as of tonight it's not showing up on ESPN or Rivals or anywhere, but it has happened.

That means, IMHO, it's down to SC and LSU. He and Woods are buddies from what I was told - this might be good news for us late tonight.

Sedee Keita, a four-star prospect rated the No. 82 prospect in the country, has committed to Frank Martin and South Carolina.

I don't wanna jinx this so I'm gonna cross my fingers and relay the following.

I talked to someone tonight, a very close dear friend who is as connected as connected can get ... and he seemed very upbeat, almost assured me, that Woods is gonna be a Gamecock barring some last minute change of heart.

He told me about Sedee transferring down here and committing to us three days before anyone else knew it and he even called to tell me when Sedee left to make the trip here and when he arrived at 22 Feet.

He was really talking up how our coaches have connected with Woods in s lot of ways ... then basically said it's us or UNC but he really believes, based upon what he knows, that's it's gonna be us.

Fingers crossed. It would be huge no doubt about it. Owell, that's a fwiw.

We're also still in it with 5* PF Dewan Huell Our coaches just flew down there to check in on him, and the fsu lead isn't as great as it's been made out to be.

I don't read that as a bad thing. Matter of fact I think it is school policy for security purposes over there.

Private school prerogative ... didn't Ajai do the same thing?

I cannot find a source that even has us in his Top Ten.

It'll be real tough for anyone to pull that kid outta the ACC much less the state of Florida.

But hey ... if anyone can pull a kid outta Miami it would be Martin. He's a legend down there. Plus, imagine if Martin is down there pitching, "if we get Woods on the 11th ... will you give us a visit?"

Woods might be a helluva bait. We've got Sedee to throw in the mix plus Dozier and Silva already here among others. I would imagine that supporting cast is still an important selling point.

That kid's resume is incredible. He looks like one of those very rare athletic 6-10 guys that can do it all.

I watched the livestream, I don't know if it was open or closed. Policy would make sense though, hope it's that and not just him not wanting a bunch of local SC fans there.

247 has been keeping up with him and they mentioned him again today.

Yep, its school policy. The announcement time is during school hours, they don't want a bunch of people in the building who are not affiliated with the school (have a kid there or something.) This makes sense.

That would be crazy insane if we also got him....I figured that once Keita committed it'd be hard to get him with Keita and Silva already in the house. But I can see us playing two of the 3 at the 4 and 5 spots, with the 3rd rotating in and still getting solid minutes.

But that would be crazy insane....

Agreed, it would probably be the best class we've brought in the past 20 years. SCRooster would know more about that though. Huell is the longest shot here though, but we could move players to fit the spots to get all that talent on the court at the same time.

I mean Fogler had some pretty good classes ... two I can think of that he really thought he was going to get Kevin Garnett and Jermaine O'Neal that may have made them both Top Five classes if not #1.

But I really have to think back to the McGuire years to think of classes that might outrank the one y'all are theorising.

McGuire signed several Top 5 classes between 68-72, but those were the days when frosh were not allowed to play varsity ball.

So, IMHO it would be our best class in over 40 years.

I have a friend, Lynn Burkholder, who played for Coach McGuire. Well, and John Ribock too down in Augusta (famous for busting Lefty Driezel in the mouth during the Maryland game) ... both of those guys were parts of highly regarded classes back then ... that's a conversation I'll strike up with them next time I talk with them.

The class y'all are suggesting would have to be considered one of our best two or three in history.

FWIW a buddy called me earlier tonight and we were talking about the football program. He was a long time HS coach in SC and sent a ton of players to D1 schollies. He was in my second wedding. Anyways, during the conversation he starts telling me about how much he likes Martin ( I do too and sat with him behind the backstop at the baseball regionals two seasons ago but that's another story about my take on his drive and competitiveness) ... but anyway, the kid from Miami was brought-up tonight by my buddy and, to my surprise, we are really honestly evidently making a very serious push to reel this kid into the fold. I would not have believed it but I know who he regularly eats lunch with and we are definitely in on this kid, for real. We're a player for his services. I almost couldn't contain my excitement listening to how strategic Martin was and is making a move for this kid through his connections in Miami. I mean it was/is all about low-pressure and timing and Martin might end up pulling this off. Who knows. It would be huge. They are comparing this kid to Kevin Garnett ... that's just unreal.

ETA: Huell visited on the 16th of October. He says it is down to FSU, Miami and SC. FSU says they have a hard, solid commit. Everyone else says it is a soft commit. Kid says he is going to commit (solid) in April but everyone else thinks it will be sooner. He's playing in the Under Armour 24 game ... I guess we'll see if that helps us or not. He is thinking about coming back up here for a game, an unofficial visit, in January or February. He still texts back and forth with Frank Martin and Lamont Evens on a regular, almost daily, basis. His Momma likes Frank Martin and South Carolina the most, or so some are saying. So that might really work in our favor because he loves his Momma big time. And while everyone is touting the work Martin and Evans are putting-in on this kid ... word is that it'll be Martin and Perry Clark that close him. Clark has some connection down in Miami that is close to Huell.
