Mack chose VCU, which was the consensus prediction for a week or so....

-- One 2016 prospect who South Carolina is well aware of is forward Jordan Bruner (Columbia/Spring Valley). Assistant coach Lamont Evans has been to a great number of Bruner’s games and has a good feel for him as a prospect and his potential. Right now, the Gamecocks are still monitoring him and there are no immediate plans to offer him. Clemson has offered him and their assistant coach, Steve Smith, is very high on him. The questions on him right now is his build. He’s a slender player and some feel like he’s not a good enough shooter to play the three position. Bruner is a player that USC will keep an eye on going forward but we don’t expect anything to happen in the immediate future with regards to an offer.

-- Another local riser is 2017 guard Devontae Shuler (Irmo/Irmo), who was recently featured by 247Sports analyst Jerry Meyer. The Gamecocks are in great shape for Shuler, who has an offer from Stephen F. Austin (home of former USC assistants Brad Underwood and Michael Boynton) to his credit. Shuler has to buckle down in the classroom a little bit though to ensure he qualifies to enroll at a Division I institution out of high school. The academic requirements become a little bit more stringent next year. If he gets his grades up and South Carolina decides to offer - which is likely, provided his academics check out - then the Gamecocks will be tough to overcome as it stands today.

Whatever happened to the kid outta Gaffney who, I think remember, signed with Georgetown maybe? I wanna say he signed on the same day Shaq Davis signed with us.

-- South Carolina hosted post player Schuyler Rimmer for an official visit beginning Thursday of last week and it is supposed to be his last visit before making a decision, which is scheduled to come at some point after Christmas. Rimmer, who stands 6-foot-10 and 250 pounds, left Stanford with intentions to transfer on November 24 after appearing in only two games.

LJ Peak. He's having a solid year with Georgetown. He's 3rd on the team with scoring and he's doing well defensively too.

Who are we up against and, is he any good?

CiYE ... that's him. Dang - wish we could have signed that kid. I knew someone that was there that day and evidently the kid really showed his arse in an anti-Gamecock way. Through the SC hat on the floor and stomped on it after the fake hat switch when he was walking over to sign autographs.

Boston is the only one I know of. I think he'll have to sit a year anyways. He came out of HS in '13, took a RS, and then didn't play much this year. He'll have 2 to play 2 after the transfer, I believe.

He's smart though, he'll be good for the team APR if he comes in.

Yep, I read that as well. Honestly, I wish he would've come to SC, but it is what it is. that shite with that hat was childish. He's doing well though, so good for him.

This is correct, if he comes he'll have to sit a year.

Well unfortunately Rimmer chose to join Florida as a walk-on today. Florida wasn't even sniffed at by the media posting about his favorites, but he's a Gator now. Moving on...

CFM went down to ATL today to see 4* PF Shawntrez Davis. He's rated #110 Overall according to 247 Composite Ratings.

Both of South Carolina's 2015 basketball signees - point guard Perry Dozier (Columbia/Spring Valley) and forward Chris Silva (Roselle, N.J./Roselle Catholic) - were nominated for the McDonald's All-American Game, which is scheduled for April 1 at the United Center in Chicago, Ill. The list is a long one including 823 boys and girls players but it will be whittled down to 24 for each gender on January 28.

They fought like hell.

Shots just would not fall ... again.

One day it will all come together and, when it does, we'll have a winner.

No moral victories - but I was proud of them.

Not surprised. Its a Saturday. They bring a ton of fans for the midweek game.

Pissed they bought all the tickets at the box office though. I always just show up and buy my tickets before going in. But no. fricking UK fans had to buy them up
