Updated the OP with 2015 Targets, just with 247 composite rankings, if or once they commit I'll include all of the rankings by each site.

Sheeesh ... I am getting so old. I remember when I thought his Dad was still a child. And I remember when Jr was born.

I used to buy suits from one of the brothers, got my offices cleaned by the other's company ... two good brothers. Special family people. I hope we get the Son.

We get Dozier's last Official Visit on October 17th before he decides. I usually think that is good news.

Class of 2015 forward Chris Silva (Roselle, N.J./Roselle Catholic) announced via twitter Sunday morning that he has narrowed his list of suitors to a final five schools. South Carolina was among those five in addition to Seton Hall, Villanova, Rhode Island and Kansas State.

His AAU coach also said at the UAA finals that South Carolina had positioned themselves very well for the 6-foot-8 forward and that he did not think distance would be a factor in Silva's decision. The four star is ranked as the 77th player overall in the 247Sports rankings.

-- 2015 guard Perry Dozier Jr. (Columbia/Spring Valley), confidence still remains on the Gamecocks’ side of things that he’ll stay home and play at South Carolina. When looking at his five finalists, he’s not a sure-fire take for any school on his list other than the Gamecocks, except for maybe Georgetown. South Carolina has been a constant player for Dozier even though other schools have come and gone. The four-star guard remains open, official visits are going to play a big role, and a decision is not expected to come until after all are taken.

South Carolina basketball signee James Thompson (Baton Rouge, La./Parkview Baptist) did not enroll this fall semester and will spend a year at prep school. Thompson will attend Reno International Prep this year and will not enroll to play for the Gamecocks mid-semester this year or in January at the semester break.

Thompson told TheBigSpur.com over text message that he was unsure if he would consider the Gamecocks when he finished prep school or not.

Carolina Hosting Hoops Duo this Weekend

quote:

Several weeks ago it was reported that class of 2015 forward Chris Silva (Roselle, N.J./Roselle Catholic) would be visiting South Carolina September 12-14. Silva has a top five of Villanova, Rhode Island, Seton Hall, Kansas State and South Carolina. He has already taken visits to Rhode Island and Seton Hall and has yet to schedule his visit to Kansas State. Things have reportedly cooled between Silva and Villanova.

quote:

TheBigSpur has learned that South Carolina will also host class of 2015 guard Jacob Evans (Baton Rouge, La./St Michael the Archangel) this weekend as well. Evans has already visited Tulane and Auburn and will visit Cincinnati next weekend. The Gamecocks offered in June.

quote:

Silva is rated as the No. 75 player in the nation by 247Sports, while Evans is rated as the No. 150 prospect.

Silva is going to announce today at 3:30, between Seton Hall and South Carolina.

He'd be a huge get - we really need him.

What is the 2nd consecutive "CB" you speak of? CB????

And I just saw that we're a long shot based upon the predictions, to land Dozier.

What a shame it would be for him to sign with UNC.

On his 247 Player profile in that link, we got two Crystal Ball Projections from 2 different 247 insiders. One was on 8/5 and the other was on 9/16. At the time they were the two latest projections. I see that he got 1 for Louisville yesterday.

Silva picked the Gamecocks! Solid addition to the 2015 class, but most especially a another big man that we sorely need on the roster. Also still hearing news that James Thompson could possibly still make the team, but after this coming season. That would be 2 legit big men on the roster for Coach Martin to start building his program around...

Silva is a 4*-rated PF by both 247Sports and ESPN, and a 3* PF that's the #132 prospect in the 2015 Rival150, per Rivals. He's a solid pick-up for the program....

So how do y'all honestly see our basketball program shaping-up? Is Martin doing a good job recruiting?

After the way we ended last season I think we're heading in the right direction, and honestly I'm pretty excited for this season.

I think Martin has done a good job recruiting but the knock has been a lack of big men. Now hes landed one and Chatkevicius really started to play well at the end of last year

Yes, it was nice to see how they looked once they had a full season under their belt, ie actually had some experience.
