247 came out with an article this morning that implied we may indeed be much more of a factor with Zion than previously thought. Its looking like its between us, UK, UNCheat, and Dook. Also said that there are those in his inner circle going to bat for us for him to stay in state.

Gosh ... that would be a major coup for the program.

So I ran into a friend down at the Cockaboose today while down there stocking up for the game Saturday. He has two kids who attend the same school as Zion ... his oldest is a classmate.

He said, from what he is hearing, that both the kid and his family are playing things close to the vest but everyone believes it's between us and Kentucky and that Kentucky leads.

He said UNC has the cloud of doubt (NCAA) hanging over their heads and Coach K may not be at Duke much longer for health reasons. Said word is he's one and done so Kentucky is the leader and Coach Cal is selling that but he feels like Coach Martin can teach him some discipline and defense that he might not learn at Kentucky ... plus we're closer to home and he likes the idea of staying in-state, so do his parents, where he can be the man for at least one year.

But still, Kentucky appears to be the big leader ... at least according to what he told me. He seemed pretty sure of his info.

Yep, and I think Cal and another coach, maybe the guy at Kansas but don't quote me on that, are coming in after Frank in the next few days.

I hope we pull it off but he's probably headed to Kentucky.

Still, it would be a major coup if we get him, no doubt.

What’s the deal with Christian Brown? Played at Flora and transferred to LR. Does he have any interest in us?

Saw where we were at his game last night, but was just shocked that a 5-Star from Columbia wasn’t talked about more.

For anyone needed proof that Clemson does not care about basketball, they just went to oh for 59 in Chapel Hill. That is both evidence that they don't care - how could they not upgrade their program to win at least one at some point - and the reason they don't care. They have never been very good at anything other than football - and even there, they ain't that good.

Most of the discussion on Taternet centers around their D Line passing on the draft and how great they will be next year, and how special Clemson is - which is why there are coming back. And very little on the basketball team or Zion.

I was told last night that he grew-up a UGA fan and is dead set on going there. He wants to go out of state and get away from some issues in his life. He has not been open to communication with our staff and has basically told them they'd be wasting their time trying to recruit him. Has ignored repeated attempts to get him to come in for a visit.

All I can say is, it just HAS to take a damn Gamecock fan to get a nice little Clemson basketball recruiting thread started on the Rant for Clemson fans to have fun with. Thanks for that shite guys......

Same HS as Silva.

Maybe Frank can open up a pipeline? They have Naz Reid whos going to LSU (top 10 recruit).

NJ is very basketball rich and none of them stay in state (because the teams all suck)

Based on his other offers and the fact that he isn't rated, it sounds like another project.

Lol I actually just found this.

Does the State just fricking lie to our faces?

Frink was also offered by James Madison and UMass, among others. He's rated as a three-star prospect and is the No. 75 power forward in the country, according to 247Sports.

High 3* SG TJ Moss has committed to South Carolina. He was on Penny Hardaway's AAU team, and when Hardaway got the job as Memphis HC handed to him, I was sure Moss would follow him there. But glad I was wrong.

It raises our class from 13th-14th in the SEC to 8th, per 24/7 Sports. Moss is now the highest-rated prospect of our class, and we have room for 1 more scholarship player to be added, provided Fleder returns and Bowen is eligible to play next season....
