South Carolina won the NCAA Division I Baseball Championship in 2010 and 2011 at the College World Series. South Carolina has made 11 College World Series appearances including six times in the last 14 years. In those 11 appearances, the Gamecocks have went 32-20 for a .615 winning percentage, that is sixth-best among winning percentage leaders in CWS history.
South Carolina is one of three schools in the nation to have reached at least 11 NCAA Super Regionals since 2000 and has the most NCAA Super Regional appearances of the 14 SEC schools since 2000. In addition the Gamecocks own the second-highest win total in Division I baseball since 2000 (745-314 record) and more conference wins than any SEC team since 2000 (288-189 record).
Recently, South Carolina is one of only five schools in the nation to host a NCAA Regional in five of the last six years.

Still feels weird thinking of our stadium as Founders Park...

Really wish we had Crowe and Morris in the weekend rotation. However, I think Webb is going to be a stud and Widener is getting better.
Also, our hitting should be MUCH better this year with the JUCO guys we signed and the new bats.

This kid seems to be pretty good at baseball.....what other sport is he expected to play?

That's what everyone was telling me at the oyster roast. Said he sac flied the first one then cranked the next two outta the yard.
I hope he saves some of that for the regular season.

It's going to be hard to keep him focused on football this spring if he walks on our baseball team and does this.
Who were the pitchers yesterday? Are there any stats from the scrimmage posted anywhere?
Posted on 1/31/16 at 11:38 am to CockInYourEar
Unfortunately not, Whittle wasn't out there yesterday so no breakdown of the scrimmage. I think I'm going to go out today and watch. I'll try and have a breakdown from what I see in this thread. Maybe even have one over on TBS as well.

Braden Webb is going to be an absolute stud. He struck out 7 in three innings on Friday.
We should have a great 1,2 punch with Schmidt and Webb at the top of our rotation. 3rd starter is up in the air right now, watch out for Adam Hill who could get a shot in the rotation, he pitched pretty well on Saturday.
Mcilwain's 2 home runs on Saturday were really just high fly balls that looked like they would drop just before the warning track but just kept carrying. It's almost shocking he's hitting so well because he just got here in early January but he's such a special athlete that I guess it really doesn't matter. He's still having freshman at bats though, so he'll have some frustrating moments at the plate but he'll outgrow those. He's way too talented not to.
The roatation in 2017 should be absurd with Crowe (hopefully) coming back with Schmidt, Webb and Cody Morris (who's an absolute stud as well).
Rotation wise and talent wise there is no way we shouldn't make at least the super regionals/CWS in 2017.

That's what I was hoping to hear. He's built like a major leaguer and he dominated Oklahoma HS's for 2 years.

I hope we can make it to Super's this year and Holbrook can have a chance to lead that team in '17.

I'm pessimistic about Crowe coming back to USC.
