8. South Carolina over Clemson, Nov. 25

Athlon says: "The defending national champion Tigers lost quite a bit of talent to the NFL, but there is still plenty of it on the roster, particularly the defensive line. That said, South Carolina will have a sneaky-good team coming out of the SEC East, and this game will be in Columbia, so upset potential is there."

SDS also has us picked to upset the taters. I might temporarily lose my mind...happily so, though, when, not if, this happens.

Well they beat you badly last year, much like Auburn put the boots to Arkansas. I imagine Clemson is claiming that this proves total dominance.

Which goes to show that most fans have the memory retention of a gold fish because just like Arkansas is 5-5 with Auburn in the last ten games USC has split the series with the taterheads in the last decade.

Y'all beating Clemson would be about as shocking as flipping a coin and having it come up heads instead of tails.

Clemson was absolutely loaded to the gills with talent last year, they won the national championship after all. I don't think this Clemson team has near as much talent as last year's team though.

Your offense should be finely tuned (barring any injuries) and I think the Gamecock defense will be quite a bit better by then as well. I like your chances to knock Clemson off in the game.

For our d to be better we can have zero injuries on that side.

That is the wild card. South Carolina is in the middle of a long term rebuild. Spurrier was a tremendous coach and did great things for your program but he was coasting the last few years when it came to recruiting and it shows. I think your starters can play with anyone, its depth that is going to be an issues.

We had a similar situation with Petrino here at Arkansas. Everyone was oooing and ahhing over how well the team was doing but hardly anyone took into account that over a two year period, out of the 49 players we had signed, 26 of them failed to qualify, never made it to campus, or left the team within a year.

Those first two years of Bert being in charge any injury to a starter was devastating because we had no one behind them. A few years back I was joking I wouldn't be surprised if we were pulling fans from the stands to make a full travel team.

The good news for you folks is that Muschamp is a recruiting machine and you are sitting in a talent rich area. Muschamp will have the numbers to compete for the East in a year or two. I think you do better then people expect this year and put yourself in a position to challenge Georgia next year for a trip to Atlanta.

It seems peculiar that we have the totally opposite situation at Carolina than Florida had with Boom. We are pretty well loaded on the offensive side of the ball but not so much on D. But we aren't bare in the cupboards...and having Skai back is great. Just hope he stays healthy.

I wouldn't say that.
Florida was pretty well loaded on both sides of the ball (as they always are and as shown from the talent they have in the NFL)

They just had awful OCs (Charlie Weis-no Idea why the F he was hired) and 2 QBs who were Suspended/Kicked off the team

Glad we got Wolford back. He did a great job in 2009.

Yes he did ... I like Eric a lot and he seems totally focused and committed to us now. Spoke with him today.

Still yet, Clemson is loaded. No telling which way both teams will be trending 3 1/2 months from now. They've got waaaaaay more depth than us at the moment and our schedule to end the season is reminiscent of the old orange crush days - the SEC did us no favors.

We'll be prohibitive underdogs for that game - but anything is possible between now and then.

Never thought about that.

Makes perfect sense, though.

Oh well...it was worth it, imo.

That's well put sulli.

mUSChamp is doing yeoman's work as his own recruiting coordinator. Plus he's put together a very decent staff of recruiters who can coach. We're still very young plus we're a couple of years away but if we continue to see effort and excitement on the field it'll happen.

FWIW I know mUSChamp seems to love it here and so does his wife and kids. He's entrenched and he's got a plan that he's working ... I can honestly never remember us having a dynamic YOUNG staff like this so capable on the recruiting trail and still such hard workers on the practice field. And their players absolutely love and respect them - I think that may prove to be the most important thing of all.

I could see mUSChamp building this up and then sticking around long term which is where stability comes into play - a rarity these days. mUSChamp is a very personable guy in person but you can tell he's all business. He's ultra competitive in every aspect of his position from recruiting to coaching to demanding physical practices to game planning .... his attention to detail is beyond anything I could have imagined before. He's a real CEO type HC.

Another thing I think is really going to pay dividends is this support staff he's assembled. Dillman is getting it done. Jesse Jackson is an even bigger asset than I was told she was going to be the first day I found out she was hired. All the individual position S&C coaches are really paying off - I mean you can see the results. And last but not least our facilities are in the upper echelon of the conference these days. Once that football ops building is completed we'll be top four or five in the conference and that's saying something. We'll have a palace for a football ops building, our game day stadium facilities are constantly under improvement, around the stadium is a show place, the new recruit facility in the South end zone is very very nice. The indoor practice facility has been named one of the finest in the country, if not the finest, by several services. Our rehab and trainer facilities are already outstanding but they are about to be one of the top three in the conference when you combine the two areas to include what they are putting in the ops building. And the new weight room is just going to be spectacular. And most of all .... Williams-Brice is a special place to play, especially when we are competitive and winning. They were carting some recruits from the practice facility to the stadium a couple of weeks ago and some of the recruits wanted to walk through Gamecock Park and around the stadium ... that says something about our facilities these days.

Oh and finally, what mUSChamp is doing in terms of academics and with The Dodie ... it's important. It may be one of our biggest selling point when recruiting.

So our 'priority' footprint is Georgia, South Carolina and North Carolina and Florida on occasion. We can definitely field a championship caliber team out of that area and that's where mUSChamp has let it be known we're going to concentrate and build relationships.

He's got a plan and he's working his plan. That's what successful people do.

I've said this since it happened.

Dabo thought he was being cute running the score up last year. But there are some things you just don't do in a rivalry game. That's one of them. It will come back to bite him in @$$....

I'm sorry but I don't agree with this at all.
I hope we do that to them this year. And we don't take our foot off the gas.

They have it coming to them after last year. They have that and more coming after their idiot mouths have spouted off since Spurrier did what he did.

Hope their ears are ready to hear it nonstop and their eyes are ready to read it everywhere. Y'all know as fast as they showed up here they will disappear. Bunch of pussies.

I'll be honest here.

I can't fricking stay not banned on TigerNet. Nothing like some good old gas shion douche baggery, but I guess that's where CT does it well with their smack thread.

I just don't see the point of smack talk if we can't smack with other fans.

Sorry, sitting around jerking eachother off over how much you hate a rival without their input is VERY boring to me.
