Our once in a over a decade matchup is Arkansas at home. Not sure how I feel about it.

Playing UGA in novemeber is all kinds of wrong.

Opening conference play on the road for the second year in a row sucks

UGA in November? Yeesh.

Really starting to hate opening with NC-based opponents in Charlotte. It's dumb and needs to stop.

I don't mind opening in CLT. It makes it really easy for area recruits to see that game/us play. I like it better on Saturday than Thursday again.

I don't like our bye week placement, that's bullshite. This year we have a pointless bye week before UMass and next year we have it before Vandy. Someone needs to start advocating for us at the SEC.

Playing UGA in Nov kinda sucks, b/c when you play them early in the season, you can always count on a few of their players being suspended. However, they've also had some November arrests the past couple of years, so there's that to consider as well.

Wofford...a triple option team right before clemson... I hope our DL's knees make it out of that game ok.

Exactly what I thought when I saw this

Glad the opener is on a Saturday. Last year against UNC was awful, but NC State has a better fan base, and the Saturday game should help with attendance.

Decent schedule overall. Don't like UGA in November, but I am also glad we don't have five home games in a row.

Speculation on the radio about the opener potentially being moved out of Charlotte with the ACC moving its basketball championship out of NC.

NC State wouldn't be able to use the correct locker rooms amirite?

What is wrong with this. Charlotte half the distance from Columbia than it is from Raleigh.

I'm ready for a 10 game SEC schedule. I'm all for traditional games but the TSIO & DSOR lunatic fringe can shut up forever if we go to 10. Carolina can add SCSU (Soul Bowl) annually to open the season or put it before the blood feud.

Wofford...??? I guess El Cid or Navy wasn't available. pure asinine - especially where it lands on the schedule.

also - congrats to Auburn for receiving the "3 SEC road games in 4 weeks" GIFT from B'ham in 2017. we got it this year and back in 2011 as well.

1980 - last time Carolina/Georgia played in November. 3rd time ever. 1980 is also the only other time Georgia has ever played Florida, Carolina & Auburn in consecutive weeks. I guess they added Notre Dame in week 2 as well because they won't make it to the Sugar this time to play them.

Charlotte TD Club is responsible for this matchup. They arent moving it. I know that for a fact. If the ACC tried to force NCState to move game locations ( which they wont) the TD Club would sue the shite out of them and probably win for breach of contract.

I think we should be trying to schedule the opening of the season at home against a cupcake every now and then. It's very beneficial to a team, and we never do it.

When 2018 rolls around, it will have been 3 full seasons since we opened the season at home. That just seems dumb to me.

Plus, we usually play like shite in Charlotte, and the NC teams don't particularly travel well, leaving the stadium looking half empty.

I'm going to do some asking around about this. As I recall some of this was put in place under Hyman and was approved by Spurrier at the bequest of ESPN, at their urging.

It was, at the time, both financially and exposure-wise advantageous for us ... I'm not sure how all of that played-out now. Our fans were blind and ignorant to what was going on at the time - I'm just not sure how much longer we are committed to this stuff.

I know part of it is to recruit the state of NC ... but we probably would be better served to finagle some games in Atlanta quite honestly.

UNC didn't travel to Charlotte due to the distance and the fact it was on a Thursday night. Last time we played in Charlotte prior to that was ecu. Which is 4 hours away and a non conference game. I think a state Carolina game on a Saturday would easily be a full house. Plus they're garbage.

Cola is closer to Charlotte than Raleigh is.

Not true. The ACC only moved Neutral Site championship games.
