He definitely recruited his arse off over the weekend. Hope he can keep this focus and drive on the recruiting front for the duration of his time here. Keep the kitchen stocked for the next guy so we can bring in a top tier guy.

It appears as if a lot of our new commits are recruiting pretty hard for us as well. Always a good thing to see. I'm sure it doesn't hurt to have Latti around again, too.

Yeah I saw that. Only other P5 offer was Purdue. I haven't watched film yet but we offered I guess and who would pass up making a go of it in the SEC?

247 Profile

He camped with us in June. Hoping Joe Rob found a diamond in the rough here, otherwise, we're dipping in the rankings.

We'll take some 2* guys who never develop or see the field for games, but we'll also take some 2* guys who end up being NFL Level like Rok Watkins or Jamon Meredith. Hopefully this guy is in the group of the latter. If we took a summer commitment from him, Elliott must have seen something from him in camp that he really liked.

3* OT https://247sports.com/Player/Pete-Leota-34815 will announce next Thursday. It's b/w Va Tech and SC. I think he picks SC. He will be at our game this weekend.

Just saw where the OT Pete Leota from Asheville, NC committed to Carolina. 3-star prospect. 6'5'' 285lbs. Chose USC over VT, Wake Forest, and UNC.

He has a good motor, he'll fit in well with what Coach Elliott is trying to do. Also, he's a good student, so there won't be any worry over qualifying.

3* WR Tre Jackson of this class tore his ACL this past Friday according to GoGamecocks.

Jackson said he expects to be back to 100 percent by March. The injury occurred when he was tackled and landed awkwardly.

ACL injuries to skill players are tricky. Hope he makes a full recovery.

Three-star wide receiver Kelvin Harmon (Palmyra, N.J./Palmyra) visited officially over the weekend and was told he had a great visit. He doesn’t want to do any interviews at this point as he doesn’t want to tip his hand ahead of his announcement on Thursday.

I know a little bit.

He had a good summer in the camp circuit, he played on McIlwain's 7v7 team. He's a big WR, 6'3" 195 lbs and he recorded a 4.52 40 yard at a Nike SPARQ combine this summer. 285 lb bench, 345 lb squat. He won the NJ Rivals Camp MVP this summer. Last year he was 1st Team All State as well. He had 18 TD's last year. He plays both ways, he's also a SS and really a rather good one at that.

Here are some highlights.

He throws the stiff arm...a lot, hard to tackle at the HS level.

Former Gator Commit Tyrek Tisdale - 3* RB is going to contact USC soon to see if there's an opportunity here according to SportsTalkSC.

https://sportstalksc.com/index.php/2015/10/06/strecruiting-former-florida-commit-tyrek-tisdale-to-contact-usc/

quote:

RB Tyrek Tisdale (6-2 200) of Orlando decommitted from Florida Monday night and is ready to see what else is out there for him. He’s hoping one of those opportunities is with USC. ...

“They haven’t talked to me since I committed in March,” Tisdale said. “I had a good relationship with Coach Sands and Coach Spurrier. I have family from there. They have a good environment and a good support system. And they have good coaches. There was nothing wrong with them. I like how they coach and how the players are. I like the school and the environment. I like everything. I was blessed to be offered by them and I just thank the coaches for the offer.”
