I agree.

But if he continues on this pace I can't see why he wouldn't.

6-6 PGs are tough to find now days.

He will not play PG at the next level IMO....off guard or wing looks like his best fit, unless he improves drastically in his ball-handling skills when good defensive PGs are attacking his dribble, and improves on his passing.

He is a decent to good ball handler which the two position requires, is decent shooting the three and IMO will continue to improve there, is also a good driver to the basket and also has a short mid-range jumper at the top of the key that he is effective with....

welcome back Duane Notice

this team still has issues on the defensive boards, but they're relentless. off games from both Dozier & Thornwell overall, but both made big plays/shots down the stretch. Felder continues to play fearless.

Frank Martin is SEC COY to this point. 5 first year players who've each had to contribute on a team that lost 3 four-year players/starters. this is his best team at Carolina.

Love Felder, glad Notice got his shot back (even for just one game), but during crunch time, Sin took over. 11 points in the final 6 minutes.

When this team is healthy and not suspended, they're damn good. Wish they had two fewer losses.

Needed them both today, especially with Kotsar's unproductive game.

Crowd was very decent today. I think quite a few students came back early for this game.

Poor Kotsar couldn't buy a basket but he kept playing hard. All of them did. Guy sitting next to us was an A&M fan and he kept telling us how many freshmen they were playing and how young they were and I kept telling him we are just as young ... or younger.

This is a young team we have ... but Sin is definitely the glue. I hope he rubs off on the younger guys this year. Dozier is going to have to be the man next year ... but there will be another leader step forward as well. I really like that #4 kid. He's got Floor General potential.

Women's basketball... anyone remember me saying UConn looks beatable? I'll kindly take that back now... I just got an ESPN update saying they beat #20 USF 102-37. Ouch.

Another big win tonight for Gamecock MBB - Tennessee isn't a top team in the conference this season, but it was another road win for USC, and last season we played like crap in Knoxville and actually lost. Tonight we didn't play a whole lot better, but was good enough to win 70-60 in a foul and turnover-infested game.

First time since 1996-7 we started 3-0 in the SEC: that season, we won the SEC and went 15-1...

Next up: we host Ole Miss Saturday, who has played badly versus UGA tonight. They lost their top scorer Burnett in the game to a high ankle sprain, and he was one of the top scorers in the SEC thus far too. Ole Miss has a top 50 RPI and top 20 SOS. We need to keep taking advantage of these opportunities to better our position....

I know we didn't have Thornwell at the time we played them, but OM did knock off Memphis in OOC play.

Are you gonna add the rest of the men's schedule to the OP?

I honestly come here for schedule info and I noticed that the full schedule isn't posted.

It'd be appreciated

Another important win for USC tonight. Next week will be the biggest week of the regular season IMO as we should find ourselves back in the top 25 after the wins over UT and Ole Miss, but now host Florida Wednesday and then travel to Lexington to take on Kentucky next Saturday.

USC's defense is really giving USC a reputation across MBB Nation: we are currently 7th nationally in scoring defense, 3rd nationally in FG % defense, and 2nd nationally in 3-pt. FG % defense. Also 14th in forced turnovers per game. That's elite defense right there. Lets keep it up....

Getting a win against Florida would be huge because we are in a 3 way tie for 1st in the conference at 4-0 with Florida and Kentucky.

Should be a great environment Wednesday

Huuuuuuuge win

But what an ugly game. Officiating almost made me turn it off even though we were winning.

Absolutely brutal officiating and offense. No flow, but a win is a win, and that was needed. CLA was finally rocking.

The CLA was definitely rocking. I was sitting right next to the student section, just below them ... they were impressive.

Martin was in rare form.

I'm starting to think our fans feed off of defense more than we do offense ... but it's kinda cool actually. Not sure it's ever been like this before.

Sinsational...

Thornwell had 2 more steals last night vs FLA to push his total in SEC play to 19 in 5 games. that's best in the conference at just under 4/gm.

his 18.2 ppg appears to trail only Monk/UK (21.4) and Yaten/UGa (19.7) to this point in the season.

Hey USCe fans, I was hoping to get your thoughts/ideas about our upcoming matchup. I was hoping to throw some questions with specific Auburn related info underneath. Looking forward to your thoughts and the game

- How did USCe keep TAMU's Tyler Davis (or other similar types) from taking over the game?

Auburn's new FR C Austin Wiley (6'11 255lb) is extremely similar to Tyler Davis in game style and scoring rate (Wiley is improving too) . I noticed USCe doesn't have much past Kotsar maybe Silva to repel that size. What did ya'll do to hold Davis under season avg?

-What is USCe doing to be #2 nationally in defensive 3PT%?

Auburn is around ~#100 in % of points from 3FG. What does USCe do to hold trigger happy teams like AUburn from hitting their 3PTers?

- USCe is amongst the leaders in fouls committed, Auburn is amongst the leaders in drawing fouls, how do you deal with foul trouble?

It appears Silva and sometimes Dozier have issues with fouling. Considering they + Thornwell are effectively your offense, how do ya'll cope if they are in foul trouble?

For a midweek game against a team with little respect like Auburn, what is the expected crowd attendance by rough % filled?

How much does the crowd have an effect on the game @ USCe? Is the crowd for Auburn expected to be big?

Generally, what have teams done to be successful vs USCe? What gets shutdown by USCe in terms of play style/tendencies?

Also, if ya'll have any questions about Auburn's team, let them fly.

I'm pretty harsh in criticizing Auburn's team, I'll give a pretty straight answer w/ only a little homerism

I don't know enough about basketball itself to give you as in depth an answer as you're probably looking for but I'll give ya what I know.

Tyler Davis mainly just played like crap that game. Started slow and it seemed to get in his head. Took himself out of it. Silva and Kotsar do a nice job down there though so credit to them is needed as well.

We don't give a lot of open looks at 3 pts, we do that fairly well but we also have the fluke of having UF go 0fer that padded the stats. I have no clue how that happened. They did get a decent # of looks but nothing was dropping for them. I don't know that we do anything all that special other than limiting open looks.

Silva absolutely gets in foul trouble every single game. When he takes longer to do it, he can absolutely take over a game. Monster blocker, rebounder and has pretty good touch on jump shots when he cant get all the way to the glass. When we get in foul trouble it mainly effects what we do on offense mainly. the defense holds up about the same but Silva and Kotsar are head and shoulders above the guys coming off the bench scoring wise. This is where you need to get a lead.

Midweek games do typically have lower attendance but this is an SEC game, there will probably be plenty of people there. Home court advantage is big for us. You let us hang around late, the crowd WILL take over.

If you want to win, feed the ball inside early to get Silva/Kotsar in foul trouble, make your shots from the charity stripe, and score as much as possible with them out of the game. Once Frank sends them back in we tend to go on a tear and get right back in it.
