This will be another good test today, for both teams.

Dangit ... just realized that my package does not include the PAC12 Network. Looks like I get everything but the PAC 12 and B1G networks. Crap.

Owell, maybe it'll be on WatchESPN.

Cocks beat UCLA 68-65. They may have been unranked but according to the State

quote:

The Bruins, WNIT champions a year ago, have a group of sophomores who were the No. 1 freshman class in America last year. Wilson, the top overall national recruit who spearheaded USC’s No. 2 class, had something to say about that.

So that's no slouch victory.

That was a really fun game to watch, fantastic play all around. Hofstra was just draining 3's left and right like no other.

Minda: 18, 5
Chat: 17, 5
Carrera: 17, 4
Sin: 14, 9, 6
PJ: 12, 8
Silva: 7, 3

As well as Hofstra shot from 3, as many runs as the Pride made, the #Gamecocks only trailed for 0:36. Resilience, rebounding, & execution.

Great day for Gamecock basketball. Women win over UCLA who is very talented and have some depth of their own, but IMO we were pretty sloppy and turned the ball over a bit, which helped UCLA stay as close as they did.

We also continued the Clemson game bad habit of missing too many point-blank bunnies by the posts: the zone they are throwing at us is meant to make us score from the outside, and we actually was decent at that. We dominated in rebounding, but missed too many easy layups to go with too many turnovers. Hopefully we improve there.

As for the men, Hofstra didn't have the depth or size that we have (man I love typing that out), and they focused hard on scoring from the 3-pt perimeter, so we also dominated as well on the boards with the 46-26 rebounding edge.

This was the most complete and balanced offensive effort our team has had yet this season, and one of the top 2-3 yet under Coach Martin IMO. The Lithuanians continue to surprise me with their offensive leadership, and the youngsters in Dozier, Silva, and even Cobb for a flash continue to show their potential.

Hopefully Tulsa is as tuckered as our team is, but at least we have depth now and we heavily rotated them throughout the game and relied on their contributions, so hopefully that helped their legs stay fresh for tomorrow, and hopefully our offensive production of tonight shows up tomorrow as well....

Agreed about the men. They kept their composure, played well, rebounded hard, and shot extremely well against a very accurate Hofstra squad. Last year's guys would have lost that game.

Tulsa beat #9 Wichita State earlier this season. Going to be a tough game, but I think we pull it out.

Tulsa will be the toughest game we've played so far, without question. Shaquille Harrison is a stud G. We'll have a size advantage against them, but they are still a really good Def Rebounding team. They also have 3 solid guys off the bench and they rotate their big men a good bit. They won their conference last year and got a NCAAt bid.

This should be a great game to watch.

Good news is, we are 20% towards my personal team goal of 20 wins, at this point in time, 4-0!

The win tonight should put us in the top 25 in RPI. Granted this early it doesn't mean much we now have 2 wins over RPI top 25 as of now.

Technically, yes. I would be pretty happy with just winning 10 of the first 13, we would have a really good shot of getting to 20 wins this Reg season, if that happens.

Still not a fan of our jerseys. UA just can't get it right in my mind.

That would be excellent ... but it's a long shot.

St John's and Memphis are gonna be tough.

We've got eight more non-conf games over the course of the next forty days.

This last stretch we just played was brutal in terms of little to no time off.

I honestly think between Clemson, St. John's, and Memphis, St. John's is #3 in the order of most toughest remaining OOC opponents....

You may be right. Clemson looks a little better this year and Memphis is always talented ... don't know how well coached they are this year.
