Rest Shaw or play him?

Saw where HBC said today that Shaw is recovering and could play on Saturday. I was hoping we would rest him for the three game road stretch, but if he is truly 100 percent, do y'all think he should start?

We should rest him for the 3 game road stretch?!
Arky and Mizzou are much better than last year, we could lose those games if we don't improve fast. We can avoid playing him against Kentucky but if he's good to play, why not play him?

Tan, Rested, and Ready worked for Nixon

What could go wrong?

I'm not so sure he didn't mean rest him this weekend in preparation for the three game road stretch.

"For" could mean two things here.

Oh yeah you're totally right. I 'bout had a 'wholelottacock' moment

But in that case, I say yes, rest him because we shouldn't really need him for UK.

Thompson should be able to handle UK with no problem.

Our defense on the other hand...

Dont think Kentucky would be a problem for Thompson

If hes truly 100 percent let him start and handle the first half then give the ball to Thompson.

Gets Shaw another W to get to 21 and prevents any rust from forming because if Shaw sits against Kentucky then he'd be going into Arkansas not having played a meaningful amount of snaps in almost a month.

Just let him run out of the I formation though so he doesn't expose himself to further injury on a zone-read play

Shaw's tough. If he said he can go, he can go. When he joins the service I basically feel like it's going to go down like this.

However, if it's Thompson, we're still going to win anyways...we're playing kentucky.

Yep, my way of thinking as well.

Let him start, then get Thompson in there as quick as possible.

Rest him so that he could play during the three game road stretch. Come on now... none of those games are a cake walk.

After watching that post game show after UCF my thoughts are Spurrier will have a full head of steam and he is going for the Big 2 0 so maybe Shaw plays the whole game after all.

Rest him for the game, but get him on the practice field. He can keep from rusting that way and not put his shoulder at risk unnecessarily. If he pushes himself to come back for UK and either reinjures his shoulder or makes the current injury worse in a game that he is not really needed, then it would hurt more in the long run than if he sits out one game. IMHO...

Kane Whitehurst should just takes snaps out the wildcat while Shaw rests and Thompson learns how to throw without just chucking it in the air deep.

Spurrier said tonight that Shaw will start. How does one go from "out 2-3 weeks" to "he's a full go" in 3 days? Shaw ain't got time to bleed, or the trainer grossly overestimated the injury initially.

Shaw's a prototype terminator being tested in the ranks of D1 football before heading to the battlefields.

Seriously though I thought he might have been done for the year after he got injured.

This is a mistake that will come back sooner or later in the season. Just wait.

idk I like the idea of getting him some snaps before Arkansas next week. I think the coaches will call plays that protect Shaw and I doubt he plays in the second half.

I imagine 2 or 3 series and then hes done unless we find ourselves down by a couple scores somehow.

Bad initial diagnosis maybe? First thing that came to my mind.

Sort of my sentiments. I know Shaw is tough, but I would much rather have him for Ark, UT, and Mizzou than Kentucky.
