Positive quote on things to come / Vonn Bell Article on yesterdays In-Home

quote:

Talked to someone that is in the know in the coaching world (very connected to high school football with in Florida)

The vibe in talking to him has been the Tennessee visits are blowing these kids away, its not about hanging out but also they said the kids are actually learning about the tradition and most are shocked at the new facility. Not sure if we will land a ton of kids but we are giving kids we weren't even in on a a lot to think about.

Lets put it this way.....and laugh if you want to but the SEC elite are pushing up their plans to build facilities like ours, a couple of schools are very nervous about what changes are happening in knoxville. As I was told, and stressed to me this way, Nothing and I mean nothing beats hard work and determination, and the Tennessee staff right now is out working a lot of staffs and out smarting them, and the problem is for other schools, Tennessee finally has someone that reminds this person of a young Fulmer on the recruiting trail.

It was also stressed to me that the results would come in 2014 and 2015 on the trail and don't get too down if we don't have a top tier class.....the top 5 classes will come.

Enjoy because its from a very very good source in south florida that loves Butch Jones and his staff, and he is WELL connected in high school athletics.

I'm not sure if he posts on here or not, if so thanks for shedding some insight for us. Thought it was a good article worth sharing.

Meshes good with what myself and a lot of other UT fans are thinking. I'm really rooting for CBJ to be the guy that turns this program around. Everything he's done so far from giving Schollys to committed walk ons, Banquets for former players, recruiting, and just his overall work ethic strike me in a really positive way. He's bringing a lot of 'authentic' energy and charisma back to UT football, similar to what Coach Pearl did with the BB team. Just my 2 cents, hope you guys enjoy the quoted section above.

Thanks for the post.

I wouldn't put myself in the "pumped" category when Butch was hired, but I will say that it appears that he and the rest of the staff are going balls out on the recruiting trail. If they can coach and develop players halfway decent, it looks like these guys might do pretty well.
