The stuff some of these people say. Like, are they actual human beings? Holy shite, between the total kool aid drinkers and the "think they know what they are talking about self appointed experts" who are pathetically out of touch........

This board has plenty of the "experts" as well, though they seem to have toned it down as of late.

You mean the Pretendsiders?

Well the pretendsiders have existed forever. But now it's even worse, the things they say don't even make sense.
Before at least people crafted "insider tips" in a vague or believable way, but these are like "Saban won't do this true me".

Yeah. Lots of people speaking in absolutes, which is dangerous in general, but it is particularly foolish when people speak in absolutes on topics about which they know absolutely nothing.

Say what you want, but I have it on good authority that Saban will be hiring a new OC before the season starts.
My sources are tight and I have no doubt this will come true.

The ones on BOL are mega homers. Kinda annoying but than again they do pay to post on there so it's nothing out of ordinary.

Well what are they saying that is so implausible?

It isn't really implausible, it's just how hilariously homeriffic it is. Take the idea that Locksley might be our OC :
quote:
Locksley would be 100% OK as far as I'm concerned. Can't hurt to have an ace recruiter in that spot.
quote:
I'm actually good with any of the three. The idea of Locksley had to grow on me, but the more I learn about the success he had, with modest talent, as an OC at Illinois and Marlyand, the more comfortable I am with him at the helm. And frankly, any experienced OC with this talent should be successful. Sounds like CNS wants balance, and will keep elements of the zone read and RPOs in play, but wants to go back more to power running between the tackles and play-action passing. The RBs, OL and WRs we've recruited the last two years seem to indicate that. Having a mobile QB doesn't hurt either. Admittedly, of the three, I like Tee Martin.
quote:
Locksley was OC at Illinois when they were last decent under Zook. They had Mendenhall beat OSU etc.
quote:
Well I didn't want Locksley at first because of his record as a head coach, but have changed my mind with the names I'm seeing posted. Locksley was brought in for a reason, if hes a good Quarterback coach and recruiter along with being a good Offensive play caller and planner, I'm leaning his way!
quote:
If these are our choices I think Locksely deserves this opportunity imo. Tee Martin didn't look that good to me when we played them. That "great" QB they have came in two series in the heat of the game against us and we ran him right out of the game. People don't remember he played in the game against us and was worthless. I know he would have played better if he would have started at the beginning of fall practice, but he still got his butt kicked when he came in with ten minutes to go in the third quarter, and he played at the start of the fourth also.
quote:
Mike Shula great QB coach .......Go ahead I knew he wouldn't be a popular choice but I've never been one that really cared what was popular.
quote:
Would you rather have Tee M. or a guy that has put in his time with our team? Just because they beat some P12 teams doesn't mean anything to me. They had to play the game of there lives to be a Penn St. I'm not saying Lockesly should have the job over everybody. I think he deserves it between the three mentioned in the beginning of this post. IMO he has at least earned that.

There can't be anyone out there that believes this is an option.
