Thanks. Had the OP known this, he prob would not have started this thread.

I knew that, and I was also aware that Wisconsin was Big 10 cochampions the previous two years. 2012 Wisconsin lost all of their games by one possession. Sure, a better coach might have helped his team win some of those games, but let's not act like 2012 Wisconsin was some bad team unworthy of representing the Big 10 in the Rose Bowl. 70-31 would like to have a word with you.

this is a solid agrument for Bielema... the guy is a good coach who was put in a very difficult sitution.

2015 is the make or break point for BB... if he's not showing significant improvement across the board after 3 years, it just wasn't a good fit... sometimes good coaches and good programs don't mesh.

Upvoted. Thanks.
I chose to leave out the fact that Arkansas was undergoing an offensive transition. Auburn and Arkansas were both coming off terrible seasons, but Auburn rebounded quickly because the circumstances of their demise and the transition are incomparable to what happened to Arkansas. Just imagine what Arkansas might have been like if the players were already personally familiar with Bret and his system and had bought into his process and principles before last season began. It's not all about talent.

Look what I found embedded in all those weeds:

the recent trend of LSU's historically and talent-wise inferior rivals giving LSU fits.

...a hook!

If "fits" is winning, I'll take that over what Bama's talent-wise inferior little brother did to them this past season.

I think he's a good coach and good recruiter.

He's not great at either, but he definitely has a style and that style will consistently win games in the SEC once he has his players.

He likes giant OLs and a power run game behind them. This year he is recruiting the right people for that system and I think in 2 years he will be competitive with every single SEC team.

At the time I thought it was a good hire and I still do today.

Just give him time. That program was in shambles after Petrino and Smith.

Seriously you need to post more. It's nice to see a poster who actually brings well thought out and reasoned responses as opposed to the traditional flaming.

Just for that, I have given you access to the Arkansas board if you would like to ever stop by and talk football.

Yes, you have picked up some nice OL talent, some premiere RB's, a very good TE. Need some good WR's, a competent QB and your offense will be stout. Your defensive side needs help at LB and DB's. Which is what I think you are suggesting as well.

I am telling you now the SEC West will be the strongest grouping of football teams in college football. It already really is and will be a horror to play through each season.

The 2015 SEC West could be more stacked than the 2010 SEC West. Just think about it.

Thanks. I love this site; it is both entertaining and informative. This is the best community that I've ever been a part of. It never gets old, and there is so much potential in the other forums. I'm glad that SEC football, manga, or video games isn't the priority here. This site contains plenty of educational threads and such where it's pretty much a one stop shop.

This was after Auburn faking injuries to edge out a win. They followed losing to State in OT with losing to LSU on a fluke FR QB pass.. They def ended the season on the incline.

yeah a fluke pass to a wide open recover because the Arkansas CB bit on the under route, of a play that is designed to go exactly like that.

How many SEC coaches put their teams in the position to compete in 3 straight BCS Bowls? How many SEC coaches have lead teams to a share of 3 straight conference championships?

Bret did not do this. Oh St and Penn St finished ahead of Wisky the third year but were under NCAA penalties. That is not Bret putting his team in a position to win the Big Ten.

He said he put his team in a poition to compete in three BCS bowls. Meaning he ensured his team won the right way and wasn't on probation unlike the coachs of Ohio St and Penn St. who put their team in a position to not compete in a BCS bowl that year. Its not just about winning games, sometimes its about how you win.
