Someone that huge on a team plagued with offensive line injuries last year, you would've thought he would see the field more often. There must be a reason here, but I can't guess what it would be.

Yeah, that's pretty mystifying.

Wasnt he a third stringer?

Yes. Even with all the injuries to the OL last year, he only played in 2 games. He's big, and was highly recruited, but just didn't seem to pan out. By this time, if he were going to achieve his potential, he likely would have.
Hate to see him leave, but if he only played in 2 games last year, he likely was just holding a spot on the roster. Wish him luck.

I hope you're right about this semo. I'm really fighting the urge to question the staff's ability evaluate talent. The obvious question that jumps to mind is, if it weren't for a ton of injuries, would we have been saying the same thing about Josey? If those injuries didn't happen and GP never put him on the field and he left, would we have been saying he just didn't pan out, achieve his potential and was just holding a spot? We only found out how good Josey can be because of fate, not because of the staff's keen talent evaluation.
Ok, backing off that ledge now. Will trust the staff knows what they're doing and see how the season turns out first.

I will agree with you to an extent. The staff never played Robert Steeples he moved to Memphis and now he was picked up by the rams

Staff would have never played Josey in 11 if not for injuries too..
Freeman tried leaving the team last year too, guy is a fat blob of uselessness. Extra scholarship available now, I'll take it.

Freeman had offers from Oregon, Michigan, Florida, and Nebraska. He had options.
Mizzou didn't misjudge his skills during his recruitment...It appears that Mizzou failed to develop him. Or, maybe, he had a ton of personal issues that cannot be discussed by the coaches.
I seriously want to know what happened here. I kept seeing his name buried in the depth charts and I was pulling for him to break through and start pushing some defensive lineman around.

He was a project prospect.
He was not a true football player, hadn't played for long. Guess the project didn't work out, on top of that he surely has a weak mind... has quite the team now twice. He threw a hissy fit last year when he dropped on the depth chart. F em, see ya later fatso.
