I’m 68. Used to run marathons. Had to stop running because of knees. Gained lots of weight. Orthopedist told me I needed knee replacement. Started on Peloton to lose weight and strengthen quads. Had first knee replaced in 2019 and second one in April of this year. Now I am keeping my weight down, riding Peloton several days a week and walking over 4 miles a day 2 or 3 days a week. Keys to successful outcome are to have a great surgeon who specializes in TKR, lose as much weight as you can, do the exercise regimen ahead of surgery, and take the post-op therapy seriously. Really glad I had the replacements. I’m active, and do everything I want to do, except running.
