I like how the OT hates on pitbulls (a hate which I agree with, btw), but has very little to say about German Shepherds. German Shepherds can be just as dangerous as a pit, and there are plenty of news stories to back it up. Hell, I know of two people who have had life-altering injuries from German Shepherds that attacked unprovoked. One of those jumped a fence around the owner's yard and attacked a kid who was running down the sidewalk. Mauled his head, ripped his ear off, and cause him to need multiple surgeries over several years.
GSD's can absolutely be as dangerous as pit bulls. Look at their roles as bite dogs in a working capacity but I think the big difference is that you can 100% attribute unprovoked attacks by GSD's to shitty owners. Whereas it's not uncommon for pitbulls that seem to be completely normal and docile to fly off the handle. If GSD's didn't have a stable temperament you wouldn't see the widespread use of them as working dogs like you do.
